Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - JustinG - 04-20-2010

So....an update of some things.

Forgot to mention I have changed the catback, sold my Thermal R&D catback and picked up DJs old setup, a dual outlet magnaflow, quieter and looks mor stock than the 5in tip of the Thermal.

Aluminum radiator and Samco hoses, again thanks to DJ.

DSMlink V3 lite should be here tomorrow. Then just need the eprom socketed and should have it installed by this weekend.

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-20-2010

Ballin, fix your hangers and clean up your exhaust...

I cant wait for you to have dsmlinkn v3, guess youll have to let me do pace laps in it to get some good pulls in for "tuning" Tongue.

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - JustinG - 04-21-2010

radiator installed, and eprom should be back in my hands saturday, anyone up for some tuning after karting?

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - DavidM - 04-21-2010

It wouldn't really be karting if DJ didn't work on your DSM now would it?

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - JustinG - 04-22-2010

DJ hasnt touched my DSM, hence why its still running

El o El ouch, who took 4 months to do their timing belt when I have done one in a few hours in a JMU parking lot? Tongue

Probably good that I havent touched it, you wouldnt have a/c, emissions, interior, and would actually put down more than 220whp. Better watch out, jason's dsm I finally got my hands on a few weeks ago and already runs like a bat out of hell, cant wait to tune that one.

Lets see you keep that DSM together when your do 30+ autoxes and 6 weekends of road racing. Just dont mis-shift, I heard from a little birdie that 10k+ rpm on aftermarket cams and stock springs dont work too well.

I still wish you had got 232BOOM as your plate....

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-22-2010

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - JustinG - 04-27-2010

DSMlink installed, slim fans OTW for the radiator, stock fans wont work, pics to come....

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - Jason08 - 05-12-2010

DJ helped me for a weekend, and we got a bunch of little bull shit taken care of that I've been putting off for about ....4 years now. The car is now ridiculously fast, and it's not even tuned yet. I'm gonna get the o2 bung for the wide band welded in in the next couple of weeks, then we'll be able to tune her.

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - JustinG - 05-12-2010

Nice jason....he's been keeping me updated on your progress, glad to see your cars getting its act together

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - BLAIR - 05-14-2010

PICS.....

Picked up this PERRIN filter for $25 bucks, and remade the airbox out of a thicker gauge sheet metal.

DJ's old SAMCO hoses and Aluminum radiator with the EBAY slim fans I ordered.

Installed a Turbo blanket and another DJ special, a 1G dipstick, it is metal and the handle wont snap off like the plastic 2G dipsticks.

Went ahead and wrapped the water pipe behind the turbo with reflective heat tape.

Sweet $1.50, Rubbermaid, coolant catch can.

Unsure if i posted this but another DJ's DSM Emporium special, his Magnaflow exhaust.

Nice! Bay is looking good Justin! BTW thanks for the resonator! Gotta figure out if I can use it.. 3" piping is gigantic( insert "that's what she said") compared to the stock size on my car..

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - JustinG - 06-12-2010

If you can't use it no worries but the do make reducers you could use

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - ViPER1313 - 06-12-2010

What happened to that motors protective grime coating? Looking good man.

Re: Project 99 GSX AKA "MN3Y PIT" - Jason08 - 06-13-2010

I will be making one of those radiator overflow Rubbermade specials this week - currently running a gatorade bottle that's seen better days. What volume rubbermade bottle did you use?

Its a 1L bottle, the 1 Pint was too small. Got it from Wal-mart, but the top was originally burgundy, but had to paint it, so don't look for a black topped bottle.
