- Goodspeed - 11-26-2007 101) Revving off at a State Trooper on 81 south past Roanoke at ~70mph. I had cruise control on and as we passed the cop (Ryan T with me) I put the clutch in to quiet the car, assuming it would kill the CC (like tapping the brakes)...first time trying this. Nope, we pass the cop, rev limiter banging and the car sailing by a whole hell of a lot louder than 3k rpms  He didn't come after us, but for that split second that was the most scared I've been in a long time... 102) 81 north, Sunday evening after Thanksgiving for 4.5 hours of non-stop hell...speed up, slow down, crawl for a mile, wash rinse and repeat. Pulling back on the highway at night after pulling over on the shoulder dodging 80mph semis isn't fun either - HAULN-SS - 11-26-2007 rt 11 + rt 340 ftw - ScottyB - 11-26-2007 Goodspeed Wrote:81 north, Sunday evening after Thanksgiving i hope you didn't think it wasn't going to be horrible. were detours or side roads not possible? as a side note -- leaving roanoke at 9 on sunday i counted over 17 state troopers before i even hit pulaski county, and 8 drivers pulled over. - Goodspeed - 11-26-2007 I knew it was going to suck, not the first time I've been in that situation, it just sucked supremely bad - HAULN-SS - 11-27-2007 103) Getting BACKED into by a damn school bus on the way to work. 104) Waiting for over an hour for the cops to get there. - WRXtranceformed - 11-27-2007 That sucks dude =( I feel your pain with the b0rked car. - HAULN-SS - 12-07-2007 105)300$ propane bills - WRXtranceformed - 12-07-2007 The woes of natural gas heating. - Evan - 12-08-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:105)300$ propane bills+1 ours are usually over $500 iirc - ViPER1313 - 12-08-2007 Electric heat and stove - our bill was $39 last month 8) - Jeff - 12-08-2007 Gas heat and stove...included in my rent...priceless. - HAULN-SS - 12-08-2007 Evan Wrote:HAULN-SS Wrote:105)300$ propane bills+1 Yeah? how many square feet are you heating, to what temperature? I keep the T-stat set at 65, which I didn't think was unreasonably high. Only other thing on gas for me is the water heater. - BLINGMW - 12-08-2007 "Propane" as in big tank outside that has to be filled regularly? Or do they actually pipe propane to homes up there? We have natural gas stove, water, and heat and the highest bill I've ever had was maybe $170 in the winter. - HAULN-SS - 12-08-2007 Propane thats stored in a 600 gallon underground tank in the back yard. They come fill it every month I think. - Hunter - 12-08-2007 ViPER1313 Wrote:Electric heat and stove - our bill was $39 last month 8) I'm not so much a fan of electric heat. I our house last year we had the thermostat set somewhere in the upper 50's and our bill for January was $680. I'm not even being sarcastic. Needless to say the thermostat was set right at 45 degrees the rest of the winter and we would avoid being in the house as much as possible. In my house this year, we just spent about $1000 total (five people) to buy all the wood and oil we need for the winter. I love wood stoves. - WRXtranceformed - 12-08-2007 Propane is expensive as shit man, you don't have to use much to have your bill get high real quick. I've seen propane bills in high end homes that rival some peoples' mortgage payments!! hock:
- Mike - 12-09-2007 106) despite you getting in to a silly tight parallel spot without hitting anybody, the lady in front of you hitting you twice (she had tons of room in front) while you're still in your car and she doesn't even bother to get out and look for damage or leave a note (she didn't know i was still in my car). no, no damage, but i'm sure my license plate bracket left her 2 new gouges for her collection (rear bumper looked like it had been through a meat grinder). - .RJ - 12-31-2007 107) Breaking the coffee mug I bought at Laguna Seca
- Ginger - 12-31-2007 It's OK, RJ. I'll make you a piston mug. - Feersty - 12-31-2007 108) The review that I waited patiently for not paying off. |
