RE: Project: Space Wagon - Jake - 12-21-2018 Why the front swaybar upgrade and not a rear bar? RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 12-21-2018 installing the rear means dropping the subframe. I'll see how I do with just the front first. He's not, no (Contour Tinting in Chantilly). Ride height is looking mega proper sir. You're just gonna make it understeery. I'll see how I do with just the front first. Darren said the same thing. I’m not convinced with soft springs and struts and a car that likes to get into the bump stops right now. RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-18-2019 Christmas tree of lights on the dash the past two mornings, both went away when the car is turned off and back on again except a lingering service engine soon light now permanently on. Different than CEL, which did not come on. Quick internet search says its likely a rear wheel speed sensor or less likey and more expensive a fault within the transfer case (sensor or motor) or in the charging system (low voltage makes everything go apeshit). I'll pull the codes but Its going to the shop tuesday for oil change so I'll ask them to take a look. Car starts/drives fine. This is exactly what old bmw ownership looks like and I still dont really love this car. RE: Project: Space Wagon - Sijray21 - 01-18-2019 let me know if you want to use the Carly RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-18-2019 Will do. I have my old one, need to plug it in and see if its reading t3h 01010101011's RE: Project: Space Wagon - Sijray21 - 01-18-2019 (01-18-2019, 03:39 PM).RJ Wrote: Will do. RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-21-2019 Today, the gauges do this while I am driving down the road.... and the car is in some kind of limp mode wont take full throttle. And then I came home, walk away from the car for 10 minutes, go back outside to check the voltage and it starts up totally normal. Its at 11.9v off, 14.9-15.2v running. Not sure what the spec is, but seems high. Fuck this thing. RE: Project: Space Wagon - WRXtranceformed - 01-21-2019 And people keep convincing me that the next car I buy, that I plan to drive into the ground, should be German. RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-21-2019 A new alltrack is looking nice right now RE: Project: Space Wagon - Apoc - 01-21-2019 (01-21-2019, 04:22 PM)WRXtranceformed Wrote: the next car I buy, that I plan to drive into the ground Can I get $500 on the under? Project: Space Wagon - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-21-2019 And you wanted to do a n55 swap [emoji1787] RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-21-2019 Still do. At least it wouldnt be so slow for putting up with all of this bullshit Project: Space Wagon - ViPER1313 - 01-22-2019 Did you properly code the battery to the alternator [emoji39] I would start at cleaning every major connection you can find, then a new battery. Battery should read 12.5 when off; you might just have an alternator overcharging the battery attempting to compensate for the weak battery or bad connection. Or just burn it to the ground. That would probably be easier. RE: Project: Space Wagon - ScottyB - 01-22-2019 i think 12v lead acid car batteries are supposed to charge between 14.4 and 14.7v. at least that's how my battery tender is configured to charge them. 15v while running sounds busted but don't BMW's use some kind of fancy pants battery? RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-22-2019 Battery was new OEM coded to the car at the indy shop last year. Its back at the same shop where they've spent most of the day looking at it and cant figure out what the ghost in the machine is, other than there is a long string of KCAN (bmw canbus) failures. The internet says it could be any number of the various 'modules' connected to the canbus gone bad/gotten wet that will send the whole system apeshit, or it could be part of the wiring harness that either isnt grounding properly or has had some abrasion, exposing a wire to ground against the chassis/brackets. The car went to the dealer 3 weeks ago for a wiring recall behind the glove box/under the dash so that's a possibility that something got reassembled incorrectly. This is the 2nd failure in 6 months that has rendered the car inoperable and I dont think I can trust this thing anymore. RE: Project: Space Wagon - Apoc - 01-22-2019 On the bright side, it's saved you from yourself. |
