Oy, this event came up quick. Literally haven't touched the Spec car since I pulled it off the trailer a month ago. fark.

Probably the Irish Flu.. Heard it's generally pretty bad in the summer time..

If I wouldn't have touched the integra I wouldn't be in this spot. Between kickball last night and the gym today I can't work on it. It's been dragged to the shop. I might be at the shop tomorrow helping them wrap it up Undecided

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-05-2015

its at the track... we will see how she holds up.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-08-2015

She took another weekend of abuse and loved it.

The guys in the tech shed let me slide the car back on the scales. with my 225-230lb ass in it, its now down to 2542lbs (with a 1/4 tank of gas). That puts me 83lbs under TT weight and still overweight for any future HC plans. I'm still going to keep pulling weight and add it back in safety equipment and strategic chassis prep. Smile

its really hard to burn up 460 tread wear tires.... Undecided

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Jake - 06-08-2015

Great seeing you bombing around in this thing!

Safety should add some weight back in and then you can always ballast up if you have to.

What TT class does it fit into, E?

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-08-2015

TTE depending on tires and swaybars

swaybars require me to add a chassis brace... so its really +5 points. its a big hit for something I probably should go back to stock and bump the rear spring rates for.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - ScottyB - 06-08-2015

i forgot how light these things are. good numbers man, and glad to see it did great for another weekend.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - .RJ - 06-08-2015

Why does this thing need to weigh 2600+ lbs? That's heavy.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-08-2015

They added weight to ONLY the non vtec DC2 integras a couple of years ago. It was 50 or 70lbs.

It's just a stupid TT rule because it's a Honda

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-08-2015

Okay so the oil pressure when hot was around 14psi at idle and on track I was seeing pressures around 85psi down the front straight. At times I saw temps in the 265 range... but usually in the 255 range.

I talked to mitchum and he said I should switch to synthetic and go to a thicker oil and see what happens. I'm currently on regular rotella 10w30. it wasn't super hot this weekend... an oil cooler might be in my future.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - *insertusernamehere* - 06-08-2015

Woohoo! Good job this weekend Kaan! You made standing at the end of grid entertaining, to watch a lil integra show the rest of DE1 how to do turn 10.

He does realize that a thicker weight oil actually increases oil temps? That said 255 oil temps I would want a synthetic.

yep. your oil pressures seem healthy to me, general rule of thumb i've heard is 15-20psi idle and then another 10psi for every 1000 rpm. past 75-80 psi i bet the pump is just pushing against a wall of pressure it can't overcome, and heating your oil up.

lots of good synth 30wt oils out there but none will really make any sense if you're just dumping it all after a few hundred track miles

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-09-2015

I'll switch to a 10-30 synthetic and keep an eye on things. I don't really want to replumb stuff and spend $$$ on an oil cooler. From what I am reading, most of the Honda guys are 300* or so for oil temps!

it will be TWO months before I'm back on track though... so I have the "time." lol

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - .RJ - 06-09-2015

Get a good synthetic - motul, etc. Unless you just dont give a fuck about the motor and the K is going in then whatever...

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 06-09-2015

oh I give a fuck. I'll be switching to something better between now and next event.

I cant write checks for the K motor yet. and the K motor is probably too much for me right now. I don't mind the HP level I have now... I was beating up the tires pretty good this weekend though.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - .RJ - 06-09-2015

Because the car is artificially overweight by 200 lbs.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - navin - 06-09-2015

255-65 oil temp range is fine for a B-series motor. I think once you start getting over that 300 degree point is when most HC people start to worry.

quit calling me fat!

its 2542 with me (225-230 depending on my time of the month) in the car and 1/4 tank of gas... my instructor was another 225lbs (same instructor as my previous trip to summit). and I shed about 100lbs out of the car between events (more to go). they are 460 tread wear tires... not the stickiest in the bunch lol

255-265* aren't bad.... but on dino oil... so i'll switch to synthetic and see what happens.
