Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Mike - 01-06-2016 Time to get serious about the next vehicle. Currently under consideration are V60, CX5, All-Road, and Q5. All CPO, of course. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - JPolen01 - 01-06-2016 Why not an RDX if you are considering a CX5/Q5? Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Apoc - 01-06-2016 V60 and All-Road are our short list. I can't own a CUV/SUV because I swore 15 years ago I wouldn't own one. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - WRXtranceformed - 01-06-2016 Kind of surprised you'd have another Audi on the list after your experience. With that said, my brother just picked up a loaded Q5 2.0T and it's a really really nice vehicle. He's leasing though and it's brand new so reliability is less of an issue. I know Justin and his wife have loved their CX5, that was on our list as well. For us, the long term durability and believe it or not reliability came into question (we read a number of stories about failing transmissions that left people stranded). I also didn't like the quality of the interior nearly as much as the RDX. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - .RJ - 01-06-2016 SQ5 or GTFO Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - davej - 01-06-2016 Mike Wrote:Time to get serious about the next vehicle. The RDX fit and finish looked much better than the CX5. I would like to drive the CX5 however for that comparison. Recommend a GT w/ tech/nav package (LED headlights are the shit) S Plan and find out the incentives to stack on top. Love ours, get about 24mpg with 90% 35-45 mph city driving. Yeah but then he's buying a brand new vehicle and not used CPO like he wants...that's not going to be representative of much of what's on the used market right now. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - JustinG - 01-06-2016 Quick search, a 2016 CX5 with Tech/Nav is cheaper than a CPO SQ5, and a couple grand off from a CPO RDX with 30-40k miles. And besides I just went through this myself in July. TrueCar "great" price for a brand new CX5 AWD GT with Tech / Nav is $31,033 in our area. That's before tax tags and title and a lot more than what we paid for our RDX with 30k miles. Acuras also generally tend to hold their value better than Mazdas. I'm not saying he shouldn't consider the CX5 because it was okay, but we're comparing new vs. used right now. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Apoc - 01-06-2016 JustinG Wrote:CPO SQ5... RDX Neither of those were on his list. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - JustinG - 01-06-2016 We all know no one actually buys anything on there "list". Wife thinks it may have been frozen, but I'm not certain we froze 2 nights ago. I don't have a problem with repairs. All manufacturers (some more than others and some individual cars [not even models] way more than others) have them and as long as they're covered under a warranty, it doesn't bother me too much. I've yet to spend time in any car that comes close to what I get out of the Audi for the buck (balance of sucking up the road, interior quality, moderate performance, styling) so that's why I'd consider another. I do not buy new cars. Well, unless they're under 25k. That's the most I like to spend on vehicles. Ya, I've spent enough time in modern Mazdas to know the interior/fit/finish is likely what's going to turn me away. Heck, that goes for pretty much all Japanese cars I've spent time in over the past decade or so save for a couple of Acuras, but then I hate their exteriors. I would buy an All-Road all day long, if I could get a decent CPO for under 30k. I think we're going to end up with a V60 though. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Mike - 01-25-2016 Just took it in to get the rear sensors actually fixed this time. This weekend the oil and brake lights both started flashing. The oil means it has consumed a quart in 1400 miles - within spec according to Audi. Lulz. Brake sensor was that we needed new front pads. I knew this and had the parts so they're doing that too (with coupon it came to less than $200 in labor so "meh"). Good to know the brake pad sensors worked! I took a look at lease options since it could have possibly made sense for us, but I was way off on the numbers. Our cost of ownership is going to end up being about $250/mo and you can't really lease anything close to this car for less than $450/mo (payment + money down). Have a loaner A4 right now. Gahdamn this car is the reason I'll stick with Audi. Despite the model being about 7 years old at this point, it just stinks of quality. 0 road noise, great steering feel, great seats, great radio. The trick is to get a depreciated CPO model... Not sure how we're going to work it this time since I want to carry two car payments no more than a single day, but I'm thinking I might be able to fit a beater truck in somehow
Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Mike - 01-25-2016 Current list of possible replacements. Need to gather data: Acura TSX Sport Wagon Acura RDX Audi A4 Avant Audi Allroad Audi Q3 Audi Q5 BMW 328xi Mazda CX5 Mercedes E350 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen Volkswagen Golf Wagon Volkwagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI Volvo V60 Anything I'm missing? Requirements: cargo space (wagon or crossover), memory seats, some peppiness, decent gas mileage, AWD big plus. Subarus left out of purpose because they leave me permalimp. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - .RJ - 01-25-2016 You can lease a Golf Sportwagen (1.8t) for not much more than $250/mo. If that's your target your list is going to end up being pretty short... |
