Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - SlimKlim - 05-21-2014 I told Jake the only way I'd ever drive it was with you supervising from the passenger's seat. I'm less worried about tickets and more worried about misjudging just how fast 400rwhp is... Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - BLINGMW - 05-21-2014 sweet! So is it done? Doneish? Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - SlimKlim - 05-21-2014 Not to speak for him but I think it's like 97% done. Needs to burn off the old gas because its misfiring under load, break in the clutch, get the tachometer/water temp gauges re-calibrated, finish up the exhaust, get it aligned and build a better intake cuz the intake temps are pretty roasty. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-21-2014 Pretty much. Driving it around trying to break in the clutch. The tach is off, my tuner is going to have to fix it cause there is no way on my end to fix it :/ The stock water temp gauge is also off, thinking I got a faulty one from advance auto, as I logged coolant temps and also used a probe type temperature gauge and they are off from the stock BMW gauge. It's got a full tank of year old gas so its breaking up, but not enough that I cant drive it around. Threw in a bottle of heat and once it gets down to 1/2 a tank I will be filling it back up with fresh gas. Needs an alignment/bleed the brakes cause they are squishy, and finish up the exhaust. (Just ordered the remaining 2x 2.5 inch v-bands). I also have to build an intake box, because logged intake temps are int he 160 range. Wayyy too high. If I have some time this weekend, the exhaust and intake will be built, but I firrst have to pull the head off the race car to do a headgasket on it. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - Goodspeed - 05-21-2014 Hallelujah! Put me on the list somewhere to get a ride along. For the tach signal, aren't there a few boxes out there like dakota digital to modify the signal? Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-21-2014 Goodspeed Wrote:Hallelujah! Put me on the list somewhere to get a ride along. For the tach signal, aren't there a few boxes out there like dakota digital to modify the signal? Not required on an LS1. The stock ECU should be able to be tuned (which I paid for) to have the correct RPM. It is needed for LS3 and a different reluctor wheel.. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - Steve85 - 05-21-2014 Congrats! Yeah dakota digital is what I used. The directions basically tell you where to put the gate switches based on # of cylinders you had and # of cylinders you have. I think I had to reverse mine or something, and tell it was a 4 and now it's an 8, without the box the tach was half actual RPM. Edit: Oh good, no need to add more wiring time to your project... Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - ScottyB - 05-21-2014 yeeeeessss! this car is so damn cool. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - Mike - 05-21-2014 can someone e-mail me when this thread has videos or a sound clip? i'm sick of this shit. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - JPolen01 - 05-21-2014 Instagram brah Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - rherold9 - 06-05-2014 Does this thing live? Life has been really busy/stressful the past couple weeks, so really no updates/sound clips/videos and the car will be a little rough around the edges for hyperfest. But she will be making it! Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 06-12-2014 Sooo. Had my first major issue with it after 500 miles. I threw new plugs, wires in and made an intake much longer to get the filter away from heat. This also smoothed out airflow to the MAF. It didn't solve my MAF code which I think is a tune issue, but it did solve the power issue.... I went for my first real "power pull", and blew up the driveshaft. A custom 3" Aluminum driveshaft made for the conversion. Rumuors abounded that a run of these were failing. Mine failed in the first real hard pull. Pulled it back home with my truck and it sits awaiting Vorshlag's response. Immediate future plans for this car include finishing up the exhaust and sending the ECU back to the tuner to fix the tach readout and MAF hertz code. Longer-term future plans already being worked on (I know I am messed up). I picked up a FAST LS2 102MM intake manifold, and plan on picking up a throttle body, and a set of heads. Between those and my mods already, I hope to pick up a bit more power. Goal is 460-480rwhp. Also throwing on a set of flares to get molded with the body. The reason behind the flares and the 60-80rwhp jump is to compete in the One Lap of America next year. Jess has stated she really wants to do it, and I figure closer to 500rwhp and more tire would be needed to do an attempt at top 10. No plans on picking up 1st-3rd as $150k+++ GTRs with 1000whp and professional drivers seem to grab it each year, but a class win and top10 finish would be awesome. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - JPolen01 - 06-12-2014 Ohhh dis gon' be good

I think he is using spray for the drag races and he made up a lot of ground here in the over all points.... might want to get used to launching at the local 1/8th mile. He's always messing with cams and manifolds (i've shipped him a couple that i have tinkered with and will be shipping him more for his next batch of tests on the new motor) trying to squeeze the last bit of reliable power out of the car.
