I fell in love with Destiny 2, but decided it was time to retire. To stay on top it takes wayyy too much time invested, and after 3-4 years of D1 I just don't have it in me to continue the grind.

As such it's less painful to purge the Destiny collection I've amassed. If anyone is interested in any of the collectors editions, figures etc let me know!

I picked up Titanfall 2 last night and it seems to be pretty fun, I like the cleanness and speed of gameplay. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but will give it a shot. I am almost for sure going to buy Battlefront II when it comes out, as this version will have a campaign mode and dramatically improved PvP experience it sounds like

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Big Grin

Not preggers yet, I'm just wore out from the grind.  Sitting for 10+ hours a day at work and then sitting for another 10+ hours at a time isn't exactly the most healthy lifestyle.  I need something I can pick up and put down without a 6 hour commitment

I've been playing a bit of PUBG and CS:GO lately. CS:GO in particular has two game modes that are easy to pick up and go. PUBG gets you a little bit of the "Grind" in that you have to go find your gear, or, you can drop in a high-pop area, scramble for a gun, shoot whoever you can, die, and repeat. Pretty fun, and gets intense when its down to the last few.

It's hard to tell the countless hours I've put into the various iterations of CS over the years. I never really got into competitive in any of them, but there's a big community for it. My favorite is still finding a good 24 person pub server and playing on those. I love that there is no time commitment for that. Jump on and play for 5 minutes or a few hours and it doesn't make any difference.

Counterstrike is still PC only though right?

RE: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - RawrImAMonster - 09-28-2017

I think they may have released a console version at some point, but I can't imagine trying to play that game on a console.

I played D2 for 45 minutes last night.  I already know I suck, so I don't feel any pressure to grind. I just wanted to kill things.

Yea I don't do PC gaming, not since I gave up Everquest in college.

D2 is great but after you top out your power level, it's not nearly as grindy. Weapons drop with the same perks and everything else you can build to spec via mods, so no more going for a T12 armor set. I'm happy with that though as D1 took up all of my gaming time and I had to take several month long breaks to go play other stuff. D2 I get on like twice a week to do Milestones and Raid (which can be done in 1.5 hours now) and that's about it.

Also, holy racing games Batman. Forza 7 last week, GT Sport next week and Project Cars 2, 3 weeks ago.

RE: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2017

I played around with the Starwars Battlefront II beta and it looks like they really stepped it up from the first one, especially with a PvE campaign that will drop with the full game. The visuals and sounds are incredible and they really beefed up the PvP experience with different game modes and better ways to unlock heroes. Unfortunately, in my opinion, I don't think that the game will have a lot of staying power from a PvP perspective because it really doesn't take much skill at all. I'll still scoop it for the PvE campaign and just to dick around in an X-Wing though.

You can pre-download the Gran Turismo Sport and you get a free WRX STI rally car to play in the game. The servers aren't active yet but holy wow the game looks good. I don't even have a PS4 Pro or 4k TV but it is absolutely stunning! I might have to pick that up too

Let me know if you do. I'm going to wait and see what reviews are like first.

RE: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2017

You can play the free beta starting tomorrow and see if you like it too!

I'm posting the pre-order page for XB1X that has finally opened so everyone can say Xbox is dumb and/or they don't see the value in getting this. Personally, I'm looking forward to 4k bluray and streaming.

I'm actually looking forward to picking up Mario Odyssey here soon. So far I've been super happy with my Nintendo Switch, gotta get around to writing a review. With just Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 and Zelda: Breath of the Wild I think there's a solid case for the Switch, especially because it's portable.

RE: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 10-26-2017

I debated picking up a Switch for when I travel so I don't have to lug my PS4 around. Per Chris, I won't get bamboozled on buying a PS4 Pro I just don't see the point. I'd have to upgrade my TV too. I'll get the next gen PS whenever that comes out in a few years

RE: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Tyler.M - 10-30-2017

+1 on the Switch, I really like how different it is as a console. Looking forward to getting Odyssey before too long and I'm enjoying Stardew Valley quite a bit too for a nice change of pace from a lot of other games.
