Tissot is also a great brand to look at if you want a nice clean watch in that $250-$500 range. My boss bought me this for a promotion / record month a few years ago, it's my favorite dress watch and it gets lots of compliments:

Since we're going a little watch nerd here, this was my runner up to the Blue Angels Edition I ended up with:

How do you even read the time on that in a quick glance?

You don't.

lol. the only way i could figure out how to tell the time was by looking at the tiny digital clock in it. what a joke. you guys (maybe just lee on this one) are full stupid.

Re: Guilty pleasures... you know you've got them! - WRXtranceformed - 06-10-2015

You think that is tough try reading it on some of the Seven Friday watches!!

It's not hard at all to read the time on my Blue Angels Skyhawk but I'm also used to looking at analog dials. I can also set the digital readout to show the current time zone or another one (as I am frequently on the phone between PST and CST)

Re: Guilty pleasures... you know you've got them! - Mike - 06-10-2015

that's actually pretty easy to read.

That's retarded.

Serious question, why do so many uber high end watches use rubber for the band? It seems like ordering a chateaubriand and getting it on a styrofoam plate.

Re: Guilty pleasures... you know you've got them! - Mike - 06-10-2015

it shows that despite your super douchey watch, you're just a regular guy.

Re: Guilty pleasures... you know you've got them! - davej - 06-10-2015

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about watches, time stopped for me when my Casio calculator watch died. but if you're looking for a super douchey hard to read, then why not binary?

and while looking for that one I came across what should unquestionably be the Official MM Retirement Watch

For over three years now, I have enjoyed the company of my Timex Weekender Black Slip-Through Strap watch - I've found it to be not just a weekend luxury as the name implies, but rather an everyday indulgence. The feel of the strap, the weight of the case, they just work together in perfect harmony.

The dial is distinctive and easily legible in all situations, and the crown is straight forward - perhaps a bit difficult to operate in that it is not at all precise, but a skilled hand soon makes quick work of any necessary adjustments. The dim glow-in-the-dark markings add a sense of occasion at night, and provide a subtle accent to this fine timepiece.

$27.95 at your fine watch e-commerce retailer or auction website.
