I feel you, it's actually a shame because the interior is WORLDS improved over the prior gen. My wife's grandfather bought a '15 and he let me drive it over Christmas break. It was like getting into a different truck. In fact, he commented that he might have to bring it back because he couldn't get comfortable in it with his bad knees. We both actually really liked the interior, but it seems like a huge oversight to not put height adjustable seats in the Tacoma, I know we can't be the only potential buyers they have lost because of it. You know, looking back on all of my old Toyota trucks ('89 pickup, '94 pickup, '00 or '03 Tundra can't remember) I don't think any of them had height adjustable seats either but I guess I just didn't know any better at the time.

I know you were considering trucks. I have heard issues on the new GMC 1500s having unsolvable vibration issues. Might want to take that into account. Doesn't seem to affect the colorado/canyon.

Yeah I'm glad you mentioned it, I keep reading stories about drivetrain vibrations that never can get fixed as well as cracking dashboards with the Sierras? The "twins" do seem to be mostly immune to those from what I have seen and the only issues are typical GM TCU / ECU programming complaints (weird shifts, slow shifts, sloppy throttle response)...which can be fixed with a tune.

I wish Jeeps weren't made by Chrysler because I still really like the Overland / Summit GCs, if I decided to switch gears and get a bigger SUV instead of a truck for some reason. My brother had a nice Overland but dumped it for a Q5 because of the little issues that kept creeping up. I'm nervous enough to own another American vehicle, so potentially owning a Chrysler probably wouldn't alleviate that. I think BJ and some others have newer Jeeps here though and I haven't heard many bad things.

Everyone that I know that has owned one of the newer grand cherokees has had lots of electrical issues. Problem is, EVERY car out there has some issues. Pick your warts. I tend to go for the ones with mechanical issues that have permanent fixes, electrical nightmares are just that!

Yeah that's a great point DJ. Even though whatever I get next (I'm 99% on what it will be but you never know with me) won't get much driving time, the last thing I want is to be chasing down electrical gremlins on a newish car. JD Power and all anecdotal evidence I hear says that GMCs are the most reliable / dependable truck wise so that's probably what I will stick with.

Yeah Ken I listed it for sale I think back in the beginning of December. The irony: Of all of the listings on the major car ad classifieds (Cars.com, CarGurus, forums) and paid listings (I bought the SEO / premium listing on Autotrader / Autotrader Classics), the lead who it looks like this afternoon will buy the car came through.....Craigslist. :lol:

I am going to miss this car, but it wasn't as bad saying goodbye as I thought it would be. The new owner is a great guy, he loves cars and he's going to love this one.

I'm sure you know them pretty well if you're brother had one (and I think you tested one?) but yeah, we really like it. I wouldn't say it's super exceptional in any way, it's just a damn nice vehicle. Comfy and quiet, decent to drive, well sized without being too big, good looking, and has some of the best/easiest infotainment that I've seen - UConnect is simple and capable.

It only has about 16k on it but we haven't had any issues with ours, just a couple of safety recalls. Consumer Reports gives it a big black dot in reliability, though.
