Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 09-07-2016 PS4 Pro just announced, $399 on November 10th. Some of my friends are jizzing over the live demo Sony did showing how much better regular games looked even on a current non-4K TV but I am not sold on coughing up another $400 for slightly better graphics. And I am definitely not buying a new TV. We will see but I might just hold out until the true next-gen Playstation drops before an upgrade. I get that it's different markets, but still. No VR, probably the better move though. Wait for better GPU. Is 4k all it's offering? #okwhatever Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Apoc - 09-07-2016 #nextgenorbust Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 09-07-2016 CaptainHenreh Wrote:And VR capability apparently and a 1TB hard drive (only up 500gigs from current). Mehhhhh Wait, will the current PS4 not be compatible with the Sony VR headset coming out in October? I was really hoping I could do VR in Project Cars on my current setup. That just furthers my resolve to be done with consoles, next time I upgrade it'll be a dedicated tower under the TV and Steam Big Picture. And yeah, 1TB is not enough storage. I was tricked by the 500GB when the PS4 came out because I was used to the 360, which I think only puts a cache on the hard drive and runs the actual game off the disk. The PS4 installs the complete game, so it takes up 30-60GB of disk space instead of ~5. I was actually thinking about upgrading mine to a 2TB, apparently they take standard 2.5in laptop SSDs. Mehhhhh I don't think so, and even if it was, i'm sure it wouldn't do it well. Also pretty sure the PS4 Pro won't either (everything i'm reading only mentions 4K gaming.) So yes, wait to build yourself a nice future proof rig with like a 1070 or 1080 Pascal. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Steve85 - 09-20-2016 Geez...just got the kiddos up and running with the Rise of Iron "Pre-order". Which meant we got a 25 character code that was nothing more than a general $30 gift card. We went into the xbox store, search for "Rise of Iron" and it comes up as "only part of bundle". No option there to enter code, or download separately. So it was off to the internet to figure how to turn our "pre-order" gift certificate into the thing we actually wanted. (Had to go into the game and click on the Iron location and choose purchase, it wasn't clear if we could have just entered the code there and skipped the gift certificate roundabout) I guess pre-order is meaningless when its just a dlc? Not like we reserved one of the first sets off the printing press... Maybe I'll pick it up again too. I think I have a Titan that's like level 8 or something but have a "Spark of Light" waiting to be used. And so far Rise of Iron is getting a household  Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 09-21-2016 RoI is awesome. My Warlock is already light level 352 and I finished the iron Gjallarhorn quest yesterday
Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Mike - 09-21-2016 Good fun indeed. Went from 313 to 345 yesterday
Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - G.Irish - 09-21-2016 Yeah I enjoyed these Rise of Iron campaign missions and the new strike. Haven't started in on all the other quests, but it looks like there's a couple of fun things to keep me occupied. Really looking forward to the Supremacy crucible mode and some of the new exotic armor. Don't think I'm gonna raid on day 1, but maybe I'll take a crack during the first weekend. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - JustinG - 09-21-2016 So worth the $$? Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - G.Irish - 09-22-2016 Definitely a better value than TDB or House of Wolves. About same value as TTK. It's smaller, but $10 cheaper. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Dave - 09-22-2016 The $60 bundle was well worth it, IMO. And I've only finished the vanilla storyline... Really liking this game, even if I didn't complete my goal of getting through all the pre-existing quests before RoI dropped. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Mike - 09-23-2016 Dave, I see you online A LOT. Lemme know if I can help you, otherwise get that LL up and let's rock Would also be happy to do some of the lesser raids as I didn't start playing again until recently so I haven't finished most of them.
Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 09-25-2016 Beat the new raid last night, it was fun to go through and figure it out and look for secrets! The boss fight isn't hard per say but requires everyone to think and move fast and have lots of dps. A little bummed this is the last expansion before Destiny 2 comes out in a long while but this should definitely keep everyone busy for the foreseeable future
Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 09-30-2016 So me and the fireteam completed the new raid epic weapon quest in Destiny last night. It was a massive puzzle that every major YouTuber and streamer was trying to figure out. We figured out 97% of this new raid on our own start to finish and found most of the chests and "monitors" ourselves, but there is no way in hell we would have figured this one out. It's a really complex series of multiple quests that require a lot of coordination, communication and math to solve. Some parts of it are randomized too so you can know how to do it but still have to figure it out. Thankfully, some enterprising young guardians have already built online calculators for some parts of it. Anyway I didn't buy this game to play NumberMunchers I bought it to kill stuff, so I didn't feel bad about looking up how to do this one. ![]() Messed around with it a little last night, it's pretty sick. Does DoT damage on mobs who take multiple shots (kinda like Thorn) and head shot kills cause them to explode into red swarms that seek out other enemies. It also does extra Fallen damage which will make this a raid monster weapon. Supposedly it's decent in PvP too, i'll try it out more today
Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - RawrImAMonster - 09-30-2016 Anyone planning on picking up Forza Horzion 3? It's been getting really good reviews and I really liked the first one. I'll probably grab it for PC. Not sure if they have enabled cross platform play with the Xbone or not. It's been getting really good reviews and I really liked the first one. half tempted, but i only have like 50% completion in FH2. i doubt the two are different enough to warrant buying this one? will have to research.
