I'm not going to deny that an RB looks great in there, but I am saying that it is not on the short list unless you guys are going to pool money together and pay for it (plus all the ancillary parts necessary to do it, and frankly, a shop to do the labor because I ain't got time for that).

I love looking at RB-powered Zs, but my car won't have one any time in the near future. It'll get a stock L-series engine to start with, and maybe swap over to the L28ET of which I already have two. If I decide I want to walk the path of something different, it'll most likely be an LS (V8 mofo, big torque, no turbo, V8 mofo) or an SR20 (serious weight loss, makes the car completely mid-engined, still decent power).

I forgot you had a couple of turbo motors. That or a V8 would be pretty boss. I know you were anti-V8 when you started, what brought you around to the idea of a LS? (Besides being fairly inexpensive, plentiful, light, compact, reliable, powerful, awesome)

Yeah, the idea has grown on me over time. I like the packaging, cost, and potential. It's kinda the no-brainer in some senses if I'm willing to eat the points/classing penalties that come with it for putting the car in TT.

Made another trip out to C&C, this time to Katie's in Great Falls. Awesome, awesome, awesome time. Between the F40, LS2 Miata, 575M Superamerica, 6k-mile RS America on slicks, Harbinger, etc...I was in heaven. My dad liked the blue Fiat 500 (used to have one), the Porsche 356 and....the yellow Freightliner pickup :lol:

Awesome. There are some seriously nice cars there. It's a shame I miss it so often only being a couple miles down the street. Looks like May 10th early morning I can make it out there if anyone else wants to join.

It's definitely a good way to spend a morning. It's become one of my nice-weather weekend rituals to take a nice morning drive up there for my first cup of coffee and wander around for a while. Earlier in the spring and later in the fall the crowds die down a little and sometimes I can even park my little pile of crap in the actual show area.

The one thing that got on my nerves last weekend, is I swear the number of amateur photographers and smartphone jockeys is increasing exponentially every time I go. *cough*Goodspeed*cough*. Wink

I don't mind hopping out of the way every once in a while when I see a guy trying to get a good angle, but when four freaking people have cameras aimed at the same car 100% of the time, sorry, my skinny white ass is gonna ruin your perfect composition. /rant.

I never said I wasn't an asshole, but I go there to walk around and peek inside some cool cars, that's the point of the whole thing. I'll always stand back and let someone grab a shot if I notice them trying to get a good angle, but when I can't actually go look at a car because I'm always in the way of someone's camera, I'm just gonna stop caring entirely. #notsorry

The throngs of photogs is kinda silly, but it is a pretty tightly spaced venue for a C&C. I'll jump outta the way if I see that the person knows wtf they're doing but will similarly glide on through the smartphones and box stock DSLR's like mine :lol: I take about 3 picoseconds per shot and get outta the way, and if someone bombs me I just laugh and use it as an excuse to strike up a convo about whatever car we're staring at - I got to tell two old dudes ironically enough what the hell they were looking at with that white car ('54 Kaiser Darrin).

I do miss having something to take once in a while...I parked the Miata at the end of the side lot (peasant status) one morning and still felt a bit silly but it does make going a lot more fun nonetheless.

Like I said I've gone really early in the spring or late in the fall and it's maybe 30% as crowded as it gets around this time of year. I've parked the M3 smack in the middle of the show before because it was easy enough to get in and out, and was shocked by the number of old crusy Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche/Bentley/etc drivers that asked me about my car & how long I've had it. Freaking everyone (at least in the Great Falls crowd) had, wanted, or had a friend that had an E36 back in 90s.

Some dude had a ridiculously well cared for Avus '95 M3 parked right outside of Katie's across from the F40 last weekend. Totally stock and in beautiful condition, like 99.9% of them have window trim & rear window seals beat to shit but this one looked like it had just rolled out of the dealership.

I looked around a bit for the owner as that, or one just like it, used to be stored next to OG. May have been sold to a new owner, super low miles and showroom condition.

Bah, the 50th show only happens once...ya should've gone....LOTS of cool/rare/1 of 1 type stuff was there. I gutted it out Saturday and came back Sunday too. Also, this car in the flesh...HNNNNNNNNG
