Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - SlimKlim - 04-03-2014 I want a big pimpy car with air suspension so bad. My friend's E55 has a lowering module, it airs itself down a few millimeters when you get out of it, so every park is a hardpark. Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 04-08-2014 So I spent some time dicking around in Forza tonight, drifting my beautiful E39 M5 (silver, Fikses, its sweet) around Hockenheim like a boss. There has to be a way, thought I, to own such an awesome car without having to suffer the misery of utter financial ruin. To the internets: http://www.lsmotorswap.com/euro-ls-swaps/72-e39-bmw-562-build.html ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't know how much harder this is to do than the E36 swaps, but I. want. it. Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-08-2014 Added benefit of the 6 cylinder 5 series is a better steering rack so it actually improves the driving experience
Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Maengelito - 04-08-2014 I want those wheels, like now! Holy shit I need that Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 04-08-2014 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Added benefit of the 6 cylinder 5 series is a better steering rack so it actually improves the driving experience Yeah, if you could just go ahead and build one for me...that'd be great ![]() .RJ Wrote:Holy shit I need that I just read this guy's build thread http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1674320-My-LQ4-T56-540i-Sport-conversion-thread Other than needing a decently skilled wiring yoda on hand, it doesn't look too terrible. I wonder if any of the BMW specialty shops out there who already know how to keep the smoke in the OEM electrics would be able to make quick work of things? Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-08-2014 El o El. Deceiving... A shop would be 20k+ to do it. Hell my swap is over $10k sourcing used/good deals and doing all my own work... Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 04-08-2014 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:El o El. Deceiving... Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - SlimKlim - 04-09-2014 It was a 2003-MY-only factory option, that's why you never see them. That car probably has reps or 7-series wheels with a hub adapter. The 2003 540i's got the true "M-sport" treatment with those wheels, a different steering wheel, M5 bumpers, and maybe some suspension changes? I happen to know then where a cherry '03 540i exists, if they're super rare or something and you want to help me steal it. Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - SlimKlim - 04-09-2014 There were ~3000 540i M-sports and ~1200 of them were 6-speeds. Not ubotanium or anything but still a legitimately rare car. It's like the successor to the '95 540i M-sports which one could argue was a better car than the actual E34 M5. Between the race car/trailer/truck/ls1m3, I Should have just bought a GT3  Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 04-11-2014 Uhhhhh Daaaave.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VRnBKfPOvw ![]() ![]()
Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 04-13-2014 Stopped by Fair Lakes C&C today and it was mighty impressive. Best I've yet seen there - looking forward to hitting up Katie's soon but it's nice having this one so close to home (plus you don't have to get up ridiculously early and parking is abundant). I was really h&b'd by the built yellow FD, such a gorgeous car. I love them in pictures but in person I just get weak in the knees. Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - fiveoh2go - 04-13-2014 That 308...

RB25DET's are cheap as hell, and suit the car to a "T". He remains unconvinced of the long term viability of that option. (I know this is an RB26, but wtf ever, throw a big single on a '25 and sameysame) Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 04-14-2014 fiveoh2go Wrote:That 308... Lol. There were like 3 or 4 of them there, and the owners I saw were definitely dressed for the part. Must be a club. CaptainHenreh Wrote:Dave and I had this discussion already. (I know this is an RB26, but wtf ever, throw a big single on a '25 and sameysame) I'm pretty sure when Nismo and everyone else is still making new parts for a platform that ceased in aught-two, you don't much have to worry about long term viability  C'mon Dave! That engine bay.... http://www.zcargarage.com/photo-gallery/zcg-1970-datsun-240z.htm That sound.... http://www.viczcar.com/member-rides/rob-fullers-rb25det-1970-datsun-240z ![]()
Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - CaptainHenreh - 04-14-2014 Looks like it belongs there, tbh. |
