I want a big pimpy car with air suspension so bad. My friend's E55 has a lowering module, it airs itself down a few millimeters when you get out of it, so every park is a hardpark.

So I spent some time dicking around in Forza tonight, drifting my beautiful E39 M5 (silver, Fikses, its sweet) around Hockenheim like a boss. There has to be a way, thought I, to own such an awesome car without having to suffer the misery of utter financial ruin.

Added benefit of the 6 cylinder 5 series is a better steering rack so it actually improves the driving experience Wink

Other than needing a decently skilled wiring yoda on hand, it doesn't look too terrible. I wonder if any of the BMW specialty shops out there who already know how to keep the smoke in the OEM electrics would be able to make quick work of things?

El o El. Deceiving... A shop would be 20k+ to do it. Hell my swap is over $10k sourcing used/good deals and doing all my own work...

Also, during my time sweating some E39 goodness, I realized that for the 345083059823508 BMW's we have, how do none of them have M Parallels....love these wheels.

It was a 2003-MY-only factory option, that's why you never see them. That car probably has reps or 7-series wheels with a hub adapter. The 2003 540i's got the true "M-sport" treatment with those wheels, a different steering wheel, M5 bumpers, and maybe some suspension changes?

Ah, I see. That car has reps with spacers. I happen to know then where a cherry '03 540i exists, if they're super rare or something and you want to help me steal it.

There were ~3000 540i M-sports and ~1200 of them were 6-speeds. Not ubotanium or anything but still a legitimately rare car. It's like the successor to the '95 540i M-sports which one could argue was a better car than the actual E34 M5.

Stopped by Fair Lakes C&C today and it was mighty impressive. Best I've yet seen there - looking forward to hitting up Katie's soon but it's nice having this one so close to home (plus you don't have to get up ridiculously early and parking is abundant).

I was really h&b'd by the built yellow FD, such a gorgeous car. I love them in pictures but in person I just get weak in the knees.

Dave and I had this discussion already. RB25DET's are cheap as hell, and suit the car to a "T". He remains unconvinced of the long term viability of that option. (I know this is an RB26, but wtf ever, throw a big single on a '25 and sameysame)
