GT Sport will have an offline mode. Think of it like another GT Prologue, but with all new vehicle models.
Should be nice, but at the same time I'm not terribly excited. You can probably still blithely smash into walls with little to no consequence, and I don't particularly care about excruciatingly detailed interiors down to the floormats. And as Evan said, there are still some of the visual problems from previous releases.
That said, if they can fix the sound and improve the physics model it'll probably be enough to keep me entertained for awhile. And the bright side is I can probably use my existing wheel set up.

I read somewhere that the glitching and such was due to monitor framerates and not the game itself running on the PS4 hardware, but yeah we all know how that goes.

If they are smart they will offer very customizeable gameplay, in Pcars you can make it so realistic that you can cord tires/ruin your aerodynamics/run out of fuel/etc, etc, or you can turn it into an arcade game if that's what you want. The new GTs would be stupid not to do that so they can attract the hardcore sim guys and the casual controller racers.

Thing about GT's development over the years is that it has never been about logical progression. Forza introduced features like 4 or 5 releases ago that Gran Turismo either is just now getting (livery editor) or still doesn't have (damage, believable sound). GT has offered some of the customization like arcade vs sim, tire wear, etc. but they've consistently spent most of their effort trying to offer a stupid number of cars and a bunch of different modes that may or may not be implemented well.
To be fair developing for PS3 wasn't easy but the difficulty in developing for that architecture just exacerbated Polyphony Digital's Achilles heel. They were already horribly at timelines, then they got into Duke Nukem territory.

Ok, from reading up on this, it seems like they've actually addressed the sound issue by using real sound recordings rather than just synthesizing it. You'll also be able to earn some sort of digital FIA license that translates into a real world racing license somehow, although I can't imagine how that will work. I can't see SCCA waiving any part of the comp school requirements if someone has this FIA Gran Turismo cert. Can't see that for NASA either.

I kind of have mixed feelings about this. I just recently got back into gaming, after a 15ish year hiatus. Obviously, when I quit, Gran Turismo was THE racing game. Since then, I know it has been a let down for some time.
I love Project Cars, but I do wish it had a a whole shitload more tracks and cars. Especially stuff from North America. So I'll probably pick up GT Sport, but I figure I'll probably keep on trucking more in Project Cars. I enjoy the damage and the physics model a lot, even if minor .contact will absolutely destroy a car.

Was still playing Destiny pretty regularly, not really on the raid grind anymore because all of our characters were maxed a while ago but coming back in for Iron Banner / Trials. I'm done with it for a while though because the lag has been out of control. Case in point, watch this dude take a Truth rocket to the face and live with almost half health (you can see him yellow bar after I die, he and several of his teammates were bouncing yellow to red all match):

Probably going to be playing Battleborn now more until they release some more PvE content. there are also some serious class imbalances in PvP (they just nerfed Warlocks because some people complained while Hunters remain supremely overpowered with some BS abilities)

Your Truth rocket hit the ledge, it wasn't locked on, so DudeBro got just AoE damage, not direct.

The rocket wasn't locked on but Truth has Grenades and Horseshoes and a massive blast radius (ie. it blows up even mid air anywhere near you). It's hard to tell but that blew up right in front of him to the left of the vertical wall. I could have recorded a handful of other instances where body and head shots from primary and secondary weren't landing on these clowns and pretty much our entire group was complaining about it.
Without a hint of lag, even if that rocket blew up on top of the horizontal ledge in front of him, from that distance that is an instant kill with Truth. Trust me, that is definitely a lag issue and pretty common now in Destiny

Yeah I could see that, all of reddit is freaking out over it but to me it looks like just another multiplayer shooter.

No matter how you slice it, he was really damn close to that rocket when it exploded :lol: I have logged a lot of hours of Destiny and there is no scenario that isn't an instakill other than lag

Too bad we don't have theater like there used to be in Halo so you can see different angles. From the last 2 frames it looks like it's going to hit him, but from what he had lined up from the launch it looks like the rocket landed short. Bottom line is Truth probably kills its wielder more than any other weapon.

So Forza Horizon 3 was revealed today at E3 and it looked pretty awesome. Tons of mods, cars, and different modes of game play. Cross platform as well as 4 person online mode. Drops late September.

By Cross Platform do you mean Xbox and Windows? I didnt see anywhere that said it would be available on PS4, would be surprising if they opened it up now after being Xbox exclusive for so long.
