Most parking lots are private property, and the property owner has the right to set the usage for their property as they wish.
And I have the right to not patronize an establishment that gives people who make $500k a special parking spot for their $130k cars that cant travel very far.

What does any of your comment have to do with people parking their non EVs in EV charging station spots?

Edit:

And please you know damn well you don't carry a charging cable with you for your EV and can't just "carry a longer one".

Sorry!  Didnt mean to use big words.

The owner of a parking lot can set up EV-only spots and tow any car that is not an EV because its his/her damn parking lot.

Do you understand now, or should I draw you a picture too?

Is it too much to suggest that we treat this spots like handicap spots? Should be unlawful to park a non EV in them

(And for the record, deliberately blocking charging spots is extremely lame and petty.)

ICEers: "I'm parking in front of as many as I can and I dare one of them EV yippies to pull my shit"

I'm going to be shocked if we make it 6 months before a brandishing incident between an ICE'r and a Tesla owner with a toe rope.

Wouldnt it be easier to just carry a longer charging cable?

Then again it wouldnt get as much youtube or social media attention,  which apparently is what Tesla owners are more interested in
Handicap spots carry fines for parking in them without a plackard. I'm not saying these are equal, but I would imagine there could be an argument made.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - Sijray21 - 01-02-2019

The main issue is that these aren't parking spaces; they're fueling stations. I'd get irritated with someone just parking in front a gas pump using it as a parking spot while not using the pump.

Creating a law against it is stupid because this is common sense and private owner related. I hope more owners hire tow truck drivers to just tow them out of the way. I would like to see more teslas towing out deisel rigs online for my entertainment though.

Icers are just assholes; lots of them in this world...

RE: Automotive News Discussion - WRXtranceformed - 01-02-2019

For the record I think the Icers are also pulling a dick move, but I have also seen restaurants set up charging stations in the front most parking spots of their lot and I think it's absolutely stupid. You are rich not handicapped.

I will also submit that it was my comments about "Parking for Expectant Mothers" that caused the Great Hate 2.0. Could we be witnessing the onset of GH 3.0? I think the ball is in Jon's court.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 01-02-2019

The charging stations at restaurants are probably close to the front because it's cheaper to put them there, rather than dig under the parking lot to put them further away.

I imagine the easy solution for this is to tow a couple of trucks and would-be icers would quickly decide it's not worth a few hundred bucks and the wasted time just to inconvenience Tesla drivers.

Eh... there are light poles in most parking lots. I suspect it's much more rooted in the "incentivize being green" movement that started granting preferential parking to low emission and/or electric vehicles last decade.

Meh. All depends on where utilities are. Shopping center by me has them all the way in the back. Delaware rest plaza on 95? Furthest spots you can find from the building.

Maybe we, as humans, could have common courtesy for others...NOT!

RE: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 01-02-2019

Ok, I think MM's group assignment should be to examine charging station wiring installations to figure out how it's being done. Please don't get eletrocuted or get in a fist fight with a brodozer attempting to block a charger.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - V1GiLaNtE - 01-11-2019

I have to disagree with this Jalopnik's article title. New supra? More like Poopra.

https://jalopnik.com/the-2020-toyota-supra-is-here-and-it-looks-glorious-1831658448

It looks like a bastard child of the Alpha Romeo Guila, new Z4, and Lexus RC/LC. Kinda basic.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 01-11-2019

Wow yeah that thing is pretty ugly. The side windows are shaped really weirdly and the front is a disaster. Not too bad from the back though.

Now I know why it took them 2 years to take the camo off.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 01-11-2019

I have never been more underwhelmed than the last few years of OMG Supra is coming! until now.

Of all the great vehicles released in the last year and to come this year this is spot on.

A solid "MEH" across all judges.
