Re: How bout them Caps? - Mike - 04-27-2010 that was sad. I personally think Green has been horrible, but the rest of the defense has played fairly well. Aside from a couple shaky goals, which were mostly Theos, the goaltending has kept them in a lot of games they shouldn't have been in. If you ask me, and no one did, the offense is 100% responsible for the series being 3-3. Avg score in wins: 5.66 Avg score in losses: 1.33 Montreal has averaged 3 goals per game. Like I said before, the Caps need to score 4 goals a game if they want to win. They were doing that in the regular season, but the playoffs change goalies and it seems Halak has the touch right now. Add to that the fact that the Caps have yet to play one game where they've given 60 minutes worth of effort and it's just downright aggravating. Really the only consistent players they've had this series have been Backstrom/Ovechkin/Fehr/Carlson. They just seem to think that they can still get by as they did in the regular season, floating for a period or two and then turning it on and winning the game. Oh, and for the love of god please do something about the powerplay. It is infuriating to watch Green receive a pass at the blue line, take a huge unnecessary windup, and then either turn the puck over or take a shot thats going to be blocked. Or, Semin along the sideboards where he either tries to force a pass to someone that is picked off or takes a shot that has zero chance to get by Halak. Re: How bout them Caps? - Mike - 04-27-2010 Uhhh is the offense really the problem or is the fact that the guy made 53 f'ing saves before letting one through the problem? Seems to me like a case of "we didn't lose, but they won." Seems to me like a case of "we didn't lose, but they won." It's more Caps than Halak. Halak was pretty amazing, but a lot of their shots were when he had a clear line of sight to the puck. Most seem to be predictable, low percentage forcing of bang-bang plays. In the games they scored 3+ goals, there was a lot more throwing of the puck at the net and getting someone in front of the net to either screen or clean up the rebound. Look at how many shots they took from outside of the circles. I still think Halak stole the game last night, but I think thats the only game of this series you can really say that for. Re: How bout them Caps? - damnit458 - 04-28-2010 So I just looked in my email, and found out that I have to proctor a test from 7:00 to 9:30 tonight. Son of a bitch. I hate being a grad student sometimes :x Re: How bout them Caps? - Evan - 04-28-2010 do you have a computer at your desk? http://www.myp2pforum.eu/threads/36717-Stanley-Cup-Playoffs-2010-April-28th Re: How bout them Caps? - Mike - 04-28-2010 so the odds are 3:1 caps win. i'm not betting, but i think i'd bet against that. I would if I could, but I'm actually proctoring for someone else who teaches the course (who will also be there), so I can't just sit there and watch something. Last semester when I was actually teaching a course myself I watched a caps vs sabres game during the final  Re: How bout them Caps? - Apoc - 04-28-2010 It would be a bad idea to put $20 on Montreal. If they win, you make good money. If they lose, you bought a win for the Caps. Re: How bout them Caps? - Mike - 04-28-2010 gotta love that $50 that's unaccounted for... life can't be so bad as a bookie
Re: How bout them Caps? - Apoc - 04-28-2010 I didn't get home in enough time to put money on Montreal. :? I really thought the Caps were going to rally and pull it out. The Caps had a good series, but I think Montreal just played harder the last three games. 30+ blocked shots a game says a lot. Re: How bout them Caps? - kcook - 04-28-2010 i wanna scream. I havent said a word in like 30 minutes.. literally speechless... fuck Re: How bout them Caps? - DavidM - 04-28-2010 Unbelievable....the truth is they probably didn't deserve to win. Couldn't score to save their lives, sure Halak was unconscious but when you only score 1 ppg in 7 games what can you say. I will say that the wash out on the goal at the start of the third might actually be the worst call i've ever seen in professional sports... |
