What if you are a racer and 1/2 your crew is HPDEing, makes no sense to segerate people according to a 'class' - .RJ - 02-15-2006 Chad - add steve smith (white ITR) to the list - Test/Tune (fri) / HPDE 3 - Open Trailer as well. - white_2kgt - 02-15-2006 .RJ Wrote:Chad - add steve smith (white ITR) to the list - Test/Tune (fri) / HPDE 3 - Open Trailer as well. done, Ok I just went though the thread and got this, please correct. If it wasnt a points race I wouldnt be there. I guess I just dont get all the hoopla over it, there are plenty of other VIR events for the same $ with better weather and more tracktimetheguywiththeSi Wrote:Mike Wrote:nix me, i've never been down. - white_2kgt - 02-15-2006 Evan Wrote:Mike Wrote:This is IMO without a doubt the worst event of the year (and not just because I wrecked a car at this event). I think it is one of the better weekends. In the summer it rains, always. Hotter than hell. This weekend is more of a payoff. We have busted our asses working on cars all winter and finally get to reap the rewards of our hardwork. Not to metion about 2 months off to fix all the crap we break because of the shortcuts we took to get it ready hock:
- CaptainHenreh - 02-15-2006 Julie's brother is taking the flagger training, his name is Jason, and he's NTIman on the forums here, and as of tonight an official MMer. - Nick325is - 02-15-2006 I will be working grid. Nick - John - 02-15-2006 OK, I ask again, anybody have floor space? I have a sleeping bag and could use a little help here... I've spent a shitload of money the past week (buying a truck, trailer, and consumables for the Z) and could use any inroad into saving some cash instead of reserving a room myself. - Dave - 02-15-2006 I agree with Chad. If I had to wait another 2 months without getting a CFCP fix, I'd probably have a mild case of the shakes by the end of Feb. :-). Evan, I've also got an old O2 sensor, hit me up if you need it (Pete helped me seal up the O2 sensor ports on the 240, so unless you really need it, go ahead and do that. As for travelling down, since I can't get a straight answer on what time I'm getting off, I will call you when I am ready. Since you may be stopping on the way down at Nick's house, I could just as easily intercept you there if I don't get off in time. If that doesn't work, I'll just strap a maglite or something to the PS headrest :-p - BLAIR - 02-15-2006 yep. im going to spectate with some freinds .. between you guy and the drift event going on.. i guess ill be back and forth a lot got a hotel for sat night in danville at the innkeeper - Jewels - 02-15-2006 Dave Wrote:As for travelling down, since I can't get a straight answer on what time I'm getting off, I will call you when I am ready. John, I'm sure someone will have floor space. I'll be in a worker room, and there is usually space. Just find me or one of us and we'll help you out. Oh and if you're working (esp. flagging like me) bring every piece of clothing you own. I worked this event a couple years ago and was never so cold in my life. I literally didn't warm up until I was back at JMU Sunday night 6+ hrs later... I've got a huge bag of clothes, and it will join me at the flagging station!! - white_2kgt - 02-15-2006 Updated again, remember, if you arrive first, reserve space for the below drivers. I am using it to plug the o2 sensor hole so now that you mention it, how did you guys plug the o2 sensor hole? I havent been able to find any short bolts in that size and pitch. - .RJ - 02-16-2006 Evan Wrote:.RJ Wrote:Chad - add steve smith (white ITR) to the list - Test/Tune (fri) / HPDE 3 - Open Trailer as well.should we add all the honduh tek monkeys too? Nope, steve's he only one I think is cool enough to hang out with all weekend ![]() BTW, if I were not getting my comp license this weekend I wouldnt be there - I still havent had an 'off season' yet, and after VIR i'm parking the car in the garage, throwing a cover on it and I'm not going to look at it for 2 months. - .RJ - 02-16-2006 We dont need to reserve space for parking for workers, right? - Mike - 02-16-2006 .RJ Wrote:We dont need to reserve space for parking for workers, right? correct. a worker taking a good paddock space (with the group) is a waste. - Dave - 02-16-2006 Mike (mpg9999) from VTCC also said he'd be down at VIR to spectate. - WRXRacer111 - 02-16-2006 Evan Wrote:Dave Wrote:thanks Pete and Dave, but I got one from RJ this evening. Advance Auto near me carries a bunch of different diameters and pitches. Get the assorted pack of washers and that will probably have a washer to fit as well. They're pretty cheap. As a more permanent/more ghetto fix, I got a metal plumbing plug that was *almost the same size* as the O2 sensor port... stuck that in, gooped it with muffler-repair glue (kinda like paste, squeeze it out of tube, let it sit for a couple hours, then fire it up. cures with heat if I recall correctly) |
