I seriously debated getting one too and flipping my 65" 1080p LG but I don't need a new TV that bad. Maybe in a few years when the new Playstation drops and more stuff is in 4K (and OLED is even cheaper) I'll just buy all of it all at once

haha - yeah I just had a bunch of discounts built up (amazon wedding registry discount, Amazon CC points, Delta gift card from fucking up my flight) so when it was all said and done, I paid $800 for it. Sell one of these and it's that much less for a TV i should be good for the long haul with.

FWIW, I think the 2016 LG OLEDs are gonna be pretty cheap later this month. The 2017 (as linked above) are relatively discounted and obviously attainable, so the prior year models gotta go on sale to clear stock. My research found there was no appreciable difference between the model years, so keep a lookout for Black Friday clearance.
