Quote:For the Mustang's 25th anniversary, Ford asked us for a powertrain proposal for a 25th anniversary edition. We started with a marine 351 engine and added the marine camshaft and put fuel injection on it. We gave it back to Ford and they said the performance was improved over the 5.0-liter but it wasn't enough. At the same time, we were working on the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with the small Borg-Warner turbocharger. So I hung two turbochargers on the 351, one on each exhaust manifold. Ford said it was irresponsible. It was so fast you couldn't keep it in your lane if you stepped on the gas. The result was that they did something that did not have a powertrain feature for the 25th anniversary. The only car that I think was done correctly is here in our museum. It's a one of a kind.

There have been some pretty cool looking intakes fitted to some FoMoCo stuff over the years...

Yeah its at Funktion, I go snuffle around the shop at least once a month, keeps the juices flowing. I was just dropping a co-worker off to pick up his X5 was was blown right over when i walked in and saw that.

Right. Its a local owner, it got dropped off a couple hours before we got there and the showroom even smelled good. I think I actually talked to the guy at the Great Falls C&C last year and he told me all about it, but it went right out the other ear because i was too busy mentally fapping over the car. This time I was smart enough to grab my phone so I could look it up later.
Googling them doesn't even turn up much info. Just that its exceedingly rare, was built around 69-71, and has an italian body and an American V8 sourced from Ford. No earthly idea what it's worth, but this one is in unbelievable condition.

Looks like the last sale was at RM in Monterey in 2010-- pristine example went for $143k

Wow, if that one had a red interior the very sight of it may have knocked me dead. I like it a lot better without the big ITALIA badge across the nose and monster fog lights clogging up the grille.
