If I don't keep the revs low I might have to start wearing a fake mustache in public just to avoid all of the people flocking to me and my driving prowess. Re: Whole lotta Miata - SlimKlim - 06-29-2015 It's probably a bad ground somewhere, or your gauge cluster/the needle itself are loose. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=483148 Re: Whole lotta Miata - Senor_Taylor - 06-29-2015 Was working on cleaning grounds when I noticed that it looks like my heater hoses are leaking...
Re: Whole lotta Miata - Evan - 06-29-2015 sounds like you have every single miata common problem. heater hoses go bad because the CAS o-ring deteriorates and oil leaks on them. so you will need heater hoses and do the CAS o-ring. not expensive in parts, but as I recall both involve some level of swearing Re: Whole lotta Miata - Senor_Taylor - 06-29-2015 My CAS is on the other side since it's a 1.6. The leak on the heater hose is at the same level as the oil dipstick handle. I keep checking and I don't think the CAS is leaking. Heater hoses are ordered. Re: Whole lotta Miata - Senor_Taylor - 07-06-2015 Fixed hoses. Was much easier than I expected. Had to have my step dad reach his hand in there for the hell hose since my hands are too big. Changed the oil for the first time and noticed a decent amount of wet oil behind the oil pan. Either the CAS (which is leaking, sorry Evan), or the Rear main seal. I'll muster up the energy to replace the CAS seal soon and clean the bottom of the engine and watch for oil again. If it's the rear main seal, I don't really care until it's time to do the clutch, which is a LOOONG time from now unless the leak gets so bad it ruins the clutch. Re: Whole lotta Miata - Senor_Taylor - 07-23-2015 Went back up to JMU for a few days and left the car at home. Came back and checked to see what leaked while it sat for 4 days. There was wet oil on the front of the oil pan, which is weird because there's never been any there before. Drove to work and checked again and it's bone dry and looks normal. What could cause this? Oil pan gasket will require me to pull the engine, I think, so hopefully not that. Crankshaft seal? If it's that, are there any symptoms other than oil leaks? I don't want my crankshaft to wobble or something. I remember rolling up to Sweet Frog once and stopping the show. Re: Whole lotta Miata - Scott - 07-24-2015 Senor_Taylor Wrote:Went back up to JMU for a few days and left the car at home. Little kids especially loved it, moreso when I hit the dash button and played with the flippy lights for 'em. Re: Whole lotta Miata - Kaan - 07-27-2015 El oh el Re: Whole lotta Miata - JPolen01 - 08-26-2015 I found this brilliant sketch someone did of what Taylor will look like this winter
Re: Whole lotta Miata - Jake - 08-26-2015 Don't joke. Maeng and I had a selfie challenge to see who could send the other a photo in the coldest weather, with the top down. Not sure who won, it was years ago now. Re: Whole lotta Miata - ScottyB - 08-26-2015  Re: Whole lotta Miata - Senor_Taylor - 08-27-2015 I guess this is a challenge, huh? Re: Whole lotta Miata - BLINGMW - 08-27-2015 I want to play! Jake you gotta share yours so we see where the bar is Re: Whole lotta Miata - EclipseTurbno93 - 08-27-2015 Yeah.....
