Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - davej - 09-01-2017  fine, be picky. how about http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Audi-S4-/162652456746 higher miles but looks like a lot of preventative things done, ie. timing guides & etc look pretty fresh Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - .RJ - 09-01-2017 Gotta be newer. I sold my B7 because it was getting too much time/hassle to look after. I have patience like you wouldnt believe. Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - davej - 09-01-2017 2010? https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto ... 40886.html poor unicorn has a rebuilt title but ugh those would be fun with a tune and a few other bits. Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - ScottyB - 09-01-2017 i'd try hitting your search game hard after this weekend. guaranteed there's going to be a lot of trade-ins to get people into the new 2018 shinywhatevers with the labor day sales and crazy finance rates going on. Pretty sure those two statements are in conflict. Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - JPolen01 - 09-01-2017 Don't know if you have any experience with him but I would recommend hitting up Greg at Mid Atlantic Motorwerkes. He is a dick a lot of the time but he knows his BMWs as much so or more than anyone on this board. He can find you a specific car at auction. You just give him your parameters and price range and he goes to work. Not sure if it requires a deposit. He does this very frequently for customers. Patience requires no effort. Maintaining a 12 year old audi requires dragging my knuckles against sharp objects in an oily engine bay. Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - JPolen01 - 09-07-2017 For sure. Those people are definitely not taking big hits if any hit at all when they go to sell in the future. Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - .RJ - 09-14-2017 Still unicorn hunting. Found a car that was close but price too high for the miles, plus cost of shipping, plus white (oyster) interior that I'm sure I'd destroy with dogs and mountain biking. Also missed out on a 535 wagon, was a day late - wasnt even searching for them, had NO idea a few of those were out there. Heavy as shit, but that motor.... The next gen (F10/F11) cars look sooooo nice I wish they were sold with manual
Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - ScottyB - 09-14-2017 bah, sucks. are you still looking all over the US or more east coast? watch those potential flood sales. never would have considered a 5'er....after going full boost retard with the 135 would you be happy with something that porky? i've heard the older 5 series are pretty $$ to maintain compared to the 3's as well. Re: Project: B7 A4 Avant - .RJ - 09-14-2017 Yeah the 5 isnt my first choice and I'd buy an aftermarket warranty for sure. The motor is, well, fucking ridiculous, so despite weighing over 4000 lbs it could be alright. My search is everywhere, every rabbit hole. RE: Project: B7 A4 Avant - .RJ - 09-16-2017 Drove a 2014 3-series wagon at carmax last night. 2.0 turbo 4 cyl, automatic. Nice car, but a lot of money ($30-35k) and it didnt convince me I need to give up a manual transmission. The upside is, there's 500 used 2013+ wagons for sale on autotrader right now, so its not hard to find one. A tune pushes it over 300hp. |
