Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - ispoonwithmugen - 06-09-2014 ^Thank you. I was just about to post that. (To Rex) Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - rherold9 - 06-09-2014 If it was that black GTO he was in our 9:45 Hyperdrive session. I was catching up to him at the end of my Hyperdrive and he looked like he had too much car for him, he did not know throttle control, would just glide through a turn not a very good line and then just full throttle once he got in the straight not easing into it all.... Prayers go out to that family though. Hopefully the statement will lay all our minds to rest and stop speculation. It really did freak me out that that did happen as I was just there on the track earlier with an instructor. I understand when you are a track noobie and making mistakes especially when you go into panic mode as you lose control. It happens and sucks that it does. I hope that that driver learned to listen and never panic, just let the car go off gradually having smooth steering inputs and slow down... Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - Evan - 06-09-2014 I dont appreciate suppressing open discussion on the topic. This is something which obviously hits very close to home for most of us, and some organization's desire to protect its own interests isnt a valid reason to stifle conversation. You need to be reminded MM is NOT a nasa property and any nasa officials with conflict of interests have no rights to impose a NASA gag order on an MM forum. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - JustinG - 06-09-2014 Then how about I say this. If you currently work for NASA do not post any speculation and considering most of us are in some way shape or form involved in NASA we need to watch what we say. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - JPolen01 - 06-09-2014 I agree with Evan. It happened. We can discuss it if we like. No one here is reaching out to the press and trying to give comments or tell the story. No one has the right to censor what we say here. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - Jake - 06-09-2014 I'll refrain from posting (because official) but I think any non-officials should be free to discuss at will. I'll sit back and read for now. NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - *insertusernamehere* - 06-09-2014 Definitely enjoyed my time there working and hanging out with everyone else. Drifting was on point, really enjoyed that. I can't decide if I prefer tech shed or grid haha Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA cannot tell you what to talk about and what not to talk about. But as for everybody who is considered NASA staff we are to keep our mouths shut. Which is what Justin was trying to convey here, and what Rex was trying to convey to Polen this morning on Facebook. But f'real, they cannot ask all the attendees of Hyperfest to not talk about this, they can only ask Staff to keep tightlipped. I, for one, only know as much as been mentioned here really so its not much to talk about. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - JPolen01 - 06-09-2014 Really? It took them that long to come up with this? I know Chris and Laura bust their asses to run NASA, but this seems pretty half assed. http://hyper-fest.com/instructor-fatali ... hyperfest/ Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! It might be terse, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily half-assed Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - JPolen01 - 06-09-2014 I had to look up what terse means. I can see your point though. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - D_Eclipse9916 - 06-09-2014 Evan Wrote:I dont appreciate suppressing open discussion on the topic. I also have to say that NASA is NOT openly suppressing people with that statement, but was an email to "staff of hyperfest". This is standard fare for almost any organization to immediately tell it's employees not to share any information on behalf of the organization. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - Jake - 06-09-2014 In other news, I feel like I was hit by the entire field of CMC racecars -- today's been entirely unproductive at work, even after going to bed at 9 last night. Might consider working in the future. I'd love to get more involved and have a reason to be there. Edit: Also pretty proud to see all 4 officers out at the first event since elections. And as always, Mr. Active himself, Matt W. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - ispoonwithmugen - 06-10-2014 PS I got you a shirt for helping out Taylor. I'll give it to you whenever I see you next time. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! Thanks, man. I honestly was pissy that I missed DJ's race, and had gotten pretty tired of hearing people tell me I was dumb for not staying another night, when really it's my decision. Hence me snapping before I left. Sorry about that. Re: HYPERFIZZLE FO SHIZZLE! NASA at Summit Point: June 6-8 - ispoonwithmugen - 06-10-2014 No worries, man! |
