Re: Project Shaguar XFR - Apoc - 10-30-2015 Is two years above or below Lee's ownership mean? Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 10-30-2015 Very slightly above :p Re: Project Shaguar XFR - davej - 11-02-2015 If I plastidip it yellow, do you think it'd pass of as a bus/business expense for the montessori school? I don't think we'll be recovered enough post school expansion for this, but let me get a spot in line now for your RS7 in 2018! Right now that's around $36K, which includes a transferable Jag Platinum warranty until 2019 or 100k miles. Re: Project Shaguar XFR - SlimKlim - 11-02-2015 What the hell is a Montessori school? That'd be a hell of a bargain for your car...sorry kids, looks like tuition is going up next year! Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 11-09-2015 Wow I was NOT expecting that fast of a resolution from CARFAX. Emailed them late Saturday night with an explanation of the accident, and date/time stamped jpegs from my phone of the pictures I took for the insurance company. They emailed me at 1:15 EST with an updated CARFAX report not only showing the change from major to minor accident history but also including a brief explanation of the actual accident and that there was only cosmetic damage  And it is telling me it is only worth $150 less than retail book value Guess it's time to get more serious about the next chapter...or maybe I'll hold onto it...the saga of my vehicle ownership history continues

True story though: my friend owns a few preschools down this way and he worked out free tuition for one of his buddy's children in exchange for a ridiculously well-trained German Shepard guard dog (his buddy is a well known trainer and raises and trains guard dogs as a business, providing them to foreign dignitaries, etc.). Pretty solid barter system imo! That's like a $15k dog Re: Project Shaguar XFR - davej - 11-09-2015 CaptainHenreh Wrote:you can drive it any time you want Anytime? That would be a really unfair deal for you... Re: Project Shaguar XFR - davej - 11-09-2015 I'm 100% in favor of the barter system. Of course I always make sure to report cash values to make sure the govt can get in on a private transaction. Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 11-16-2015 Dialed in the truck I want this weekend so the only speed bump is getting this thing sold. Trade offers from dealers are laughable so I'm going the private party route. Will put up a formal for sale thread but listing it at $36,000 even for MM friends. Recently serviced / inspected and includes a transferable warranty (Jaguar VPP) with $100 deductible until September 2019 or 100k miles. Full book of records with every penny I've ever spent, detailed pictures of the minor rear end accident and body shop invoices, etc. Dan detailed it last year I think it was, still has OptiCoat 2.0 application and I have not hand washed it since then so the paint is still near flawless. Tell your friends! Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 12-17-2015 Potential local buyer in SC shows me once again how not to negotiate a private party sale: - Interested but barely communicative, acts like a tough guy on the phone when he calls me - Presents me with NADA values for my car (I don't take anyone, including dealers, seriously with this) - Admits that my car is the cleanest example he has ever seen, admits my price is near "clean retail" of NADA but decides he wants to offer "clean loan" value instead (which is like $6k less) - Tells me in 2 weeks the car will be 6 years old, which is why he offered less than the car's condition and miles dictate - The offer was made over text, without having seen the car in person  The good news is I am working with a buyer in Salt Lake City of all places who seems like a REALLY cool guy. He actually owned a 2010 XFR and wants to buy another. We are working through some logistics and work-related scheduling on both of our ends but there is a solid chance (don't want to jinx it) that he may fly out after the new year, take care of the paperwork and drive it home! It would be great to wrap it up before that so I can take advantage of some of the GMC year end deals here, but no matter when this thing sells I'll work a good bargain on a new vehicle so I'm not really worried about it. I would rather just make sure it goes to a good home, and this would definitely be it. Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 12-18-2015 SLC buyer emailed me to let me know that he purchased a plane ticket to CLT so it looks like we are almost there. If everything goes well, we should have everything wrapped up by the start of January ![]() Gonna go spec out trucks after Christmas and start the dealership shopping process  Re: Project Shaguar XFR - Jake - 12-18-2015 Woowoo! Fingers crossed that it's an easy sale. |
