Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-16-2014 davej Wrote:bet that bolt is going to be fun to try and get back in. It's $1900 new. But they are rebuildable, I contacted Spec to see if the discs are actally fubared or if they are just REALLY REALLY thin because "triple disc". And to see how much it would cost...ugh. Basically if the cost is over $600 to rebuild the clutch, I will be selling the setup and throwing in a traditional Monster ls7 clutch with aluminum flywheel. RJ/Joey, yupp. Before I pulled out the trans, I was basiclaly like :dunno: Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - .RJ - 01-16-2014 Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-16-2014 Basically... So I got a response back from Spec. $585 for a rebuild Or... Switch to a twin-disc with thicker discs and will drive better and last longer. It is also only $424. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-16-2014 Last option is rebuild it, sell for 1200-1400, buy Monster Stage 2 single disc. It only says for occasional track use. I plan on doing a drift event or two in the car, some track use and I am just really hard on a car on the street. We arent talking 200rwhp here anymore... Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - SlimKlim - 01-16-2014 Option II is sounding like the winner here. Cheapest and most durable option, no? Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - Jake - 01-16-2014 I'd go for Option 2 myself. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - davej - 01-16-2014 i'm ok with a twin disk. =) could you put the twin in and still have them rebuild the triple to sell it and still put a couple of hundred bucks in your pocket? Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-17-2014 davej Wrote:i'm ok with a twin disk. =) LOL  Nah, switching from a triple to twin just means changing out discs and stack friction discs. So I couldnt "sell" the triple since parts will be used. I am going back and forth on this, if I can get $1400 for the triple/twin rebuilt on the forums, I will send it off and sell it and get a Monster clutch. If not I will suck up the $424 and get it all rebuilt. :| Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-17-2014 Bah, Ordered A Monster Stage 2 single disc clutch. It just makes sense if I am going to sell the car in the future to have a clutch that anyone can use. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - D_Eclipse9916 - 02-24-2014 Clutch finally came in while I was on vacation. Its a lot heavier setup than the triple disc but will be much more streetable. Unfortunately I have 0 time this week/weekend to get to it. And with my race car sitting without body panels/engine/transmisison/suspension and races on March 22nd/23rd, I am not sure I will get to it. Re: Project 6.0L Sedan - Senor_Taylor - 02-24-2014 I think you need a few more projects...
