^ Those were excellent, I love a good motorsport montage. Nice Senna touches on that 2nd one.

My professor showed this to us in class today, funniest thing I've seen in a while, and so true. Louis CK on Conan

Love that car.
I didn't notice the car until they took the girl out of the frame. Where can I find a girl who enjoys riding in a car that much? lol

Not Louis CK funny, but halloween themed: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1923605

Ok, how about this:

Re: It's Friday and I'm bored - Mike - 10-29-2009

not funny, but a decent read: http://www.cnn.com/2009/OPINION/10/28/opinion.jonathan.foer/index.html

cliff's:
1. livestock account for more global warming than all methods of transportation combined... that's bad, but we rarely hear about it.
2. livestock are bred inhumainly and pumped full of drugs; for every one dose of antibiotics a human gets, an animal gets eight.
3. pumping things full of drugs makes crazier viruses and such.
4. h1n1 is only the tip of the iceberg.
5. we should demand change to factory farming techniques; they're going to jack our world up in one way or another.

Smells like hippie in here.

First off,
1. Livestock account for more greenhouse gas emissions than all methods of transportation combined. FTFY
2. This is true. But if you (the collective consumer You) didn't demand all white meat chicken all the time, then chickens wouldn't need to have breasts bigger than pam anderson.
3. Pumping animals full of antibiotics doesn't create "crazier viruses". That's just silly, antibiotics don't work that way. H1N1 has been around since 1918, ever heard of the "Spanish Flu"? You know, the one that killed 3% of the world's population? (Clearly caused by modern breeding practices, artificial growth hormones, and antibiotics)
4. Yeah. True. H1N1 doesn't even hurt you that bad. Swine flu is a joke, Bird flu was a joke, and it will take a serious *random mutation* to hurt us very bad.
5. He's right. But not for the reasons he lists. We should change factory farming techniques because it's better, but not because "ZOMG FACTORY FARMS ARE GOING TO KILL US WITH THE SKUNK FLU AND ALSO MELT THE ICE CAPS."

I stopped reading at the statement "It's the No. 1 cause of animal suffering, a decisive factor in the creation of zoonotic diseases like bird and swine flu, and the list goes on." I'll just steal someone's quote who read the entire thing - "Seems to me he is more about promoting his BOOK with fearmongering and inaccurate and misleading statistics."

1. ty. was that my bad or his?
2. yes, i know this. just as i hate daniel snyder, but every week i pump a hundred into his wallet.
3. ummm... yes it does... like any living organism, they adapt to live. i know all about h1n1; i did A LOT of reading when it was first in the news long long ago.
4. yes.
5. that's the one thing i struggled with... he didn't really promote for us to stop eating meat, which completely kills his earlier mention about the global warming/emissions thing. his whole idea is factory farming needs to change, but that's not going to solve much at all other than make peta happy.

1. It was his bad. I hate it when people say shit like that. Pop quiz: What's the #1 BY FAR largest greenhouse gas in our atmosphere? (hint: It's nothing cows emit)
2. Well, whatcha gonna do? People obviously don't care that much about it.
3. Antibiotics don't affect viruses. The end. If you get the flu, they don't give you an antibiotic. Poor living conditions DO, however, affect the spread of cross-species disease. However, TFA makes it sound like "animal suffering" is the cause of this, and let me tell you, a deer starving in Fairfax County because they're over populated isn't going to result in a "deer flu".
4.Good, we agree. Smile But it's got very little to do with "animal suffering" and everything to do with our sanitation and quarantine practices.
5. Well, there's plenty of reasons why you shouldn't crowd your animals, pump them full of hormones, steroids, and antibiotics. Stress-free meat tastes better. My parents raise 100% grass-fed beef, and let me tell you...you've never had a steak so tasty, yet so lean, as from their freezer. Even the burger smells better, and ends up being something like 90/10 after they've added fat.

Furthermore, cattle feed is often supplemented with chicken shit. Look it up if you don't believe me. See, birds aren't really efficient digesters, and so there is a ton of fiber, protein, and minerals left in chicken poop. I'm not making this up. If nothing else, this is the argument for 'humanely raised' grass and grain fed beef. Do you really want to eat something that eats the shit of other animals?

Is a vegetarian diet better for you? I can't say, honestly. Our physiology implies that we're not supposed to have exclusively vegetables, but there's some evidence that a vegetarian diet is better for you, and you certainly can't live as an exclusive carnivore. But TFA doesn't allow for that in it's agenda.

I also like one of the commenters:
Some moron Wrote:Many of the greatest people who ever lived were vegetarian [Gandhi, Einstein, Da Vinci, & more!].

I like how she leaves out Hitler, and also everybody else in fuckin' history that DID eat meat.

Sorry Mike, nothing personal, but this article smells like my ass after a rare steak. I mean, look at this:
TFA Wrote:It was in these factory farms that scientists saw, for the first time, viruses that combined genetic material from bird, pig and human viruses. Scientists at Columbia and Princeton Universities have actually been able to trace six of the eight genetic segments of the most feared virus in the world directly to U.S. factory farms.

Wow, HIV came from factory farms? And I always thought it came from monkeys. WHO KNEW?

(I also like how he completely ignores mad cow disease, which comes directly from feeding cows the remains of other cows. If they'd stop doing that, mad cow would pretty much go away.)

Re: It's Friday and I'm bored - Mike - 10-29-2009

i didn't claim the article to be truth! it merely kept me busy for five minutes of the day... i like stuff like that. 96 of them and my day is done!
