I was going to say Chevy and GMC also made a nice jump in the rankings but if you look at the distribution it's more that the other automakers above them got worse  Chevy's ratings actually got slightly worse and GMC's got slightly better.

If you guys beleive any of that shit in those rankings...come on...

Those rankings are based on input from morons who got TPMS mandated because they drove around on tires with 15psi. :dunno:

From my research, it seemed most of the bitching with LR was actually about the dealers who are horrendous. $15 sway bar bushinsg that cost $600 at the dealer every 15k miles. Infotainment systems that are horrible (the navi in the LR4 isnt the most intuitive). A modern Land Rover will nickel and dime you to death if you drop it off at the dealer, not surprised at all. I do expect more issues than let's say a Toyota, but based on all my wife's friends, my friends that aren't car people, and the public; I spend less maintaining "maintenance intensive" vehicles than they do their "drop dead reliable" cars.

I loled at some lady commenting on Jess' picture saying unreliable and Jess commenting well my husband is pretty handy with cars.

Surprisingly that was her SISTER. Then continued to text Jess saying how she spent so much on her Range Rover quoting insane repair prices. Her sister is very negative and I couldn't even make out the point considering she owned one herself.

Then says "well if he can be his own mechanic why doesn't he do side jobs for money?"

Re: What is your car buying future? - JPolen01 - 07-21-2016

Wow. Sounds like a winner.

 Does she uh, know you?

I had a chuckle at her comment that you can't go anywhere but to Land Rover for maintenance (no aftermarket/third party)... the lack of understanding among non-car people is fascinating to me.

I see that sort of stuff from a lot of non-car people. Sort of like how most people won't leave a yelp review for a good restaurant but will hop on and tear a bad one a new asshole in a jiffy.

Once people have a bad experience (whether it is actually the car's fault, or their own damn fault for taking it to a crooked dealership and saying yes to every repair they say you need, without bothering to be an intelligent consumer and research or get second opinions) then in their mind every car from that entire manufacturer is a rolling death trap, and they honestly think they are doing people a favor by belligerently insisting no one they know buy one.

Buy one? They're not super expensive, fairly straightforward to work on, and will tow the moon*.

*at 53mph.

Dad used to work on them and always said it'd be fun to have one. I always kind of wanted a bobbed one like this:

Anyhoo, steelsoldiers.com is your jam for that.
