Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 03-18-2010

That is actually the same rack, I found that picture when I was looking up what a Kargo Master Bushman looked like. I am working on the lights, I will probably have 4 offroad lamps up there over the weekend. The winch....gonna have to wait awhile on that bugger.

More new goodies!

Custom Intake w/ K&N. I had this on Anne's LHS. We removed it because the filter was loading up bad because her work takes her on many miles of dirt roads a day. That is Justin's filter from the first DSM! Going to modify it to work on the Jeep.

4 Hella 500 lamps for the rack. All boxed up. There are 6 pictured but two of them are going to Zach.

To mount the lights I needed to make brackets. These are some pictures of the first design. The 2.0 version is already out but I don't have any pictures. This will give you an idea of what I am doing with them.

The U-bolt allowed for to much movement in the mount. So the 2.0 has a flat strap and will sit the light up another 1/2 inch. I will post pics once painting is done.

OH, also. What does MM think about going doorless?

Re: Project XJ - WRXtranceformed - 03-29-2010

I approve of the other mods, I do not like the doorless.

Re: Project XJ - HAULN-SS - 03-29-2010

yeah..doorless on an xj is dumbness

Re: Project XJ - .RJ - 03-29-2010

No doors = redneck

Re: Project XJ - Goodspeed - 03-29-2010

Siiiick. And doorless looks good on every Jeep besides yours, sorry. There it just looks like the door fell off.

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 03-30-2010

Wow. I'm really surprised to see so much MM hate for Doorless.

Re: Project XJ - CaptainHenreh - 03-30-2010

Personally, I don't mind the doorless for off road excursions, but I'm of two minds when it comes to everything else. It really does look like the doors just fell off.

Re: Project XJ - balactm - 03-30-2010

4 doors off > 2 doors off

4 looks intentional, and as everyone else has said, 2 looks like an accident.

Re: Project XJ - Dave - 03-30-2010

4 doors off definitely looks a lot better than 2 off.

This is how you should approach it:
Doors off while hitting the trail = WIN
Doors off while cruising down the interstate to work = WTF

I'm still not sure how cool it will be when driving down the road and something slips out of your hand/falls off the dash/slides off a seat.

Re: Project XJ - WRXtranceformed - 03-30-2010

I'd be pretty pissed if my blackberry fell out of my pocket and right out the door and under my wheels. I'm with Dave. Take them off when you take it off roading. I just really don't feel like it looks right on that type of jeep though, it looks sweet on CJs.

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 03-30-2010

Plenty of Wrangler owners have lost there Blackberry out the door...ask Zach...

Re: Project XJ - D_Eclipse9916 - 03-30-2010

I think the 4 door is cool off roading, and if it was just a straight beater, id leave the doors off for around town. I have a feeling this isnt your daily so id totally rock all 4 doors off. 2 doors is ghey as hell.

Re: Project XJ - HAULN-SS - 03-30-2010

I think you should mod the roofline, if you want to rock 4 doors off. Cut off the back 1/4 window and give yourself like a little 3 foot bed back there

"Hummer Chop" I would love to do it but its a lot of work and my Jeep is worth to much for that dumb shit.

Re: Project XJ - ScottyB - 03-30-2010

i'm with the "cool if on the trail" crowd. if they're off when you're just driving to the 7-11 it better look like something out of desert storm or its going to look like you just bought and drove it from a junkyard for $6

Please point me to said junkyard!

Re: Project XJ - Jeff - 03-31-2010

Sexy Rexy wants an XJ.... Smile.

Re: Project XJ - Kaan - 03-31-2010

That's looking like whats going to happen. Its been said so many times "If you want a Wrangler...go buy a Wrangler." I think being enclosed is sorta part of the XJ thing. I'm a convertible person at heart so I do see a YJ or TJ in my future...just have to find the right deal. Riding aroung in a new JK with the sunrider back makes me smile.
