Re: Stock Market Thread - Mike - 10-29-2009

oh well, not the right day for that. i'm convinced that the news today matters very little in the long run; we're going down again.

Re: Stock Market Thread - Mike - 01-13-2010

i just got out big today. not feeling good about where the market is at... it's been stagnant at what i believe it an artificial high for a while now... it's all gonna come crumbling back down soon.

If you are confident about this, you could always short some stocks and make money instead of running away...

Re: Stock Market Thread - Mike - 01-13-2010

i don't like the idea of shorting so i don't do it Smile

Re: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 05-06-2010

It's because TWX was only $2 off my $36 strike price.

Re: Stock Market Thread - Mike - 05-06-2010

apparently due to some glitch, shares of accenture were selling for $.01 for a couple of minutes before jumping back to $40. f. each dollar in would now be $4000.

Re: Stock Market Thread - Ole - 05-06-2010

NASDAQ is recinding some trades. About 300 stocks will have their trades cancelled. I purchased some leveraged ETFs when we were near the lows and I expect to have those trades cancelled, but I haven't been contacted yet.... Sweet gain for 30 minutes work....

Re: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 06-04-2010

Did anyone think to short BP?

Re: Stock Market Thread - BLINGMW - 06-04-2010

Apoc Wrote:Did anyone think to short BP?

Yeah I thought about it the day or two after the spill first happened, and read some d-bag's article about how the costs of this cleanup were SO small compared to their profit that the stock had already dropped more than he thought reasonable. His numbers seemed sort of sound.... but yeah, I kind of wondered how he could possibly figure the number of lawsuits and damage to their reputation. I guess he was wrong. :dunno: Or he owned a lot of BP stock! They've dropped what, another 20% since then?

Re: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 06-04-2010

Down 39% since April 20.
