Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - ScottyB - 08-14-2015 if any of you ever buy a lexus RX, you're also buying a ticket from me for a free punt in the dick Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - SlimKlim - 08-14-2015 If the sportwagen is a lezbo car that abomination of a Lexus is what a mid-level manager single mom in her 50s would buy in an attempt to try to reassure herself that she's "still got it", even though she knows the sun is setting on the prime years of her life and she wasted all of it raising that shitty kid. And I doubt the US is going to get the GTD at this point. It was supposed to be here in 2015, but then there was an executive changeover or some shit and no one knows what's going on. They haven't even updated the GLI to the new MBQ platform yet. It's still essentially an MK6 GTI with a trunk and the new motor shoved in it, and the MK6 GTI was essentially an MK5 with an interior update. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Mike - 08-14-2015 the lexus is terrible. the sportwagen i want with more motor and/or awd. i want an a4, dammit. others in class: v60 (goofy swedish shit), 3-series wagon (same or more issues as an audi), tsx wagon (meh styling and fwd), cx-5 (no big negative other than i'll feel like a soccer mom even more), q5 (might as well get an a4). APR Stage 1 claims 251hp/298tq at the crank. What more do you want? Too bad the "Golf R Variant" isn't coming here, that's literally the perfect car and if you don't think so, you're wrong. Lexus's styling language has never been "great" but the new angry-razor-blade look is straight up bad. And my Dad's interpretation of the brand is really pretty spot on. "It's the car you buy when you want to give yourself the impression that you're standing out from the crowd and driving a really nice car, but ultimately there's nothing interesting about it." Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - WRXtranceformed - 08-14-2015 If wagon you must, quit being a pussy and buy a CTS-V wagon. If you're gonna go questionable reliability, it might as well be at the top of the Murica food chain and have 550 horse ponies. Just put snow tires on it in the winter you'll be fine Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - JustinG - 08-14-2015 Mike Wrote:cx-5 (no big negative other than i'll feel like a soccer mom even more) Love our 2016 CX-5 GT. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Jake - 08-14-2015 Am I the only one who's determined to not drive something that says I gave up on life by the time I'm 30? Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - JustinG - 08-14-2015 Or....we just want something that works, and doesn't drain the wallet or keep me in the garage for nights on end keeping it on the road. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - SlimKlim - 08-14-2015 ^ I have all of those things and sticker price on my car was like $750 more than a loaded CX-5. Have you ever looked at all the shit parents haul around? You're not gonna fit your stroller and 48 diapers in your 911. What's wrong with the CX-5? :dunno: Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - Jake - 08-14-2015 JPolen01 Wrote:Jake Wrote:Am I the only one who's determined to not drive something that says I gave up on life by the time I'm 30?I don't think you can make this claim until you have kids. Have you ever looked at all the shit parents haul around? You're not gonna fit your stroller and 48 diapers in your 911. Plenty of cool hatches and wagons that can haul shit around. I was carted around in a 2-door Nissan Sentra. I don't get the mentality of "OMG one child, time for a Suburban!" but hey, you do you. CX-5 is probably one of the best small crossovers if that's your thing. Rather see Mikey buy that over a RAV4 or some bullshit. What about a Jeep Renegade?? If you're going full-on cute-ute I think they're pretty neat. Re: 2009 Audi A4 Avant - JustinG - 08-14-2015 Jake Wrote:What about a Jeep Renegade?? You're not gonna fit your stroller and 48 diapers in your 911. not to digress too hard, but this is mostly a parent problem, not a car problem. on a daily, non-vacation level, i just do not get how some parents think they need a 60 lb. double-decker stroller with in-flight dvd player, a pallet of diapers, and a 50-liter cooler full of milk and baby food to go any place that's more than 1 hour away from home. how our ancestors managed to live at all must be a complete mystery to them. i get that some car seats now are the size of a minifridge but still, outside of having 3 kids you can get away fine with a nice midsize car as a primary vehicle. big trips can be ridiculous but that's what, twice a year maybe? just rent. |
