Richer than stock, sure, but you almost COULDN'T HELP THAT. Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - kcook - 05-17-2013 My stg1 bucked/hesitated a lot between 2-3k rpms cruising around town. After 3k it was really solid. Stg2 is much smoother overall but to the butt dyno, it doesn't feel much faster. Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - kcook - 05-17-2013 double post once again Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 05-17-2013 Local guy found this link on the interwebs. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:37769 ![]() Just so happens he has access to three 3D printers.

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 05-19-2013 Anyone have any Short Shifter recommendations? Kartboy? Cobb? Ebay? Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - ScottyB - 05-20-2013 i have a kartboy SS paired with a 2" riser and Delrin ebay knob, and really enjoy it...they're the easy button, proven company. Ixis is another boutique company some people have had good luck with. looks to be the most price conscious without going Ebay. however, it doesn't come with the bushings like Kartboy does, and they make a pretty big difference in shift quality (as opposed to just throw) http://www.ixizconcept.com/ Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 05-20-2013 So yea....I think I have a problem. All jokes aside. Should I snag up a nice, used, 5k Miles, CNT Catted DP to go stage 2. Guy only wants $250 for it shipped, go for $375ish new. My thinking is, once I go stage 1 i will want to go stage 2. And I want to install the catless uppipe for reliability purposes anyway, so may as well do the DP while im in there right? Not like im swapping turbos, injectors, etc, etc. Or am I just being retarded, need to leave shit alone and stick to stage one. And after thinking about it, I think my money will be better spent else where instead of a Short Shifter. Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - .RJ - 05-20-2013 I think you should skip all that bullshit and buy an STi engine & trans Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 05-20-2013 .RJ Wrote:I think you should skip all that bullshit and buy an STi engine & trans :finger: Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - Jeff - 05-20-2013 Plus 1 on RJs post. If he is going down the rabbit hole, might as well go jump right in. I would say don't ruin it, but you have managed to keep your cars streetable + fun without going over the deep end. Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 05-24-2013 Oh hey guys.....

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - .RJ - 05-24-2013 I lol'd Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 05-26-2013 So I have had the stage 1 map loaded up since Friday and my intial thoughts are very positive. -Throttle response is much improved, doesn't seem as laggy? Car is drive by wire, no idea if it has improved, but it feels like it. -Power has improved, scientifically tested through the ol trusty butt dyno. Car has some more ass to it through the entire RPM band, at the top end it doesn't feel like it falls on its face anymore. -Fun factor has increased exponentially, MPG has decreased exponentially, thanks to my right foot. So all in all, grabbing the Cobb intake and V1 access port and trading in the V1 toward a V2 was a good decision. Gonna try their economy map. I want to see what Stock vs Stage 1 vs Economy looks like. I definitely see a downpipe in the future, it is all that holds me back from going to the "stage 2" tune. I thought I had cured the boostrot, but it was merely in remission, it has gone to full blown BOOSTROT. Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - ScottyB - 05-27-2013 JustinG Wrote:Car is drive by wire, no idea if it has improved, but it feels like it. almost a guarantee they modified the throttle map if its DBW. stock subies have the pedal mapped so that you get 70% of the throttle plate open in the first 40% of pedal movement and the rest of the pedal only opens the plate a small (basically inconsequential) amount thereafter. subaru wanted the cars to feel faster than they are and exagerate throttle response. Not exact numbers, but you get the point. a lot of tuners will modify the throttle position tables to show a more linear throttle opening in relation to pedal position as if its mimicking a DBC car. i did this to mine and its one of my favorite mods despite adding no power at all. - JustinG - 05-27-2013 Drove to the inlaws today, mostly highway with some 55-60mph backroads. Avg of 26.5 mpg. Was getting 24 mpg previously. So another positive check mark for the AP.
