Two Hundred United States Dollars, same as in 1934.

Meh yeah so over $900 just for a can that I can't use on any other gun? Pass

Wow. I am not crazy about PA's AR's but that is cheap.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 05-19-2017

I must have gotten lucky, I love my PSA AR. it shoots better than my buddy's S&W AR

Still haven't fired up new sights yet or even gotten to put more downrange with this, but the free mags and holsters from the mail in rebate showed up!

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 06-19-2017

So, I cannot concealed carry in Oregon. That's stupid.

Reciprocity rules are so frustrating. You can always open carry, but I'm not a big proponent of that.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 06-19-2017

Yeah... I'm probably gonna have the kid in a backpack on my back, so open carry es no bueno.

Oh my damn, that's a confirmed kill from over 2 miles away

if someone's head explodes and nobody is around to see the Canuck that shot them, could you hear the "sorry?"

Don't read the comments, there's AIDS in there.

You'd have an absolute blast. We did some of this at the academy, but it was on a skidpad and not in dirt/mud. Dirt and mud would have been a lot more fun! I didn't watch the entire video, but two important things I took away from that kind of training are; it's super hard to draw a pistol from your hip, seated in a car, and engage a threat to your front, left or right, without lasering yourself with the muzzle somewhere. Seems easy in principle but once you start doing it at speed you'll find yourself passing over a leg or over a hand a couple times before you get the hang of it. The other important thing to consider is knowing the difference in cover and concealment. If you have a chance to get out of your car before you shoot, your door and the middle of the car might conceal you, but it isn't going to cover you from gunfire...unless your car is armored. Get behind an engine block or an axle if your taking fire, preferably the engine block.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - ScottyB - 08-13-2017

wife's bday the other day...

"what do you want to do?"
"let's go shoot stuff!"

so we took a ride over the local outdoor gun club range. it rocked. had a great time shooting trap and skeet even though we were sweating our skin off. we were using 20ga TriStar Vipers, really enjoyed those.

took the old winchester .22 down to the rifle range and ran about 60 rounds through it before we were too cooked to keep going. a very friendly club member/instructor insisted we put a clip or two through his AR15 as well, which was super fun and also both our first time on that weapon.

really put an impression on us. we want to do this a lot. wife used to shoot .22 in high school on a team, so now that she's got a taste of it again its hard to forget how much she enjoyed it. now we're all thinking about what firearm to get next, but the reality is the first order of business is we need to find a decent gun safe first.

so addictive, this stuff

the .22 shot awesome for a thing made in 1937
[Image: MJS3nao.jpg]

results from the .22....i'm top right and left, she's center and lower left. 30 and 50 yards respectively. i'm accurate sometimes, sloppy grouping though and i'm not breathing properly. she was getting very tired and was tightening up before she shot so it pulled towards her core/dropped left.

the club we went to has a "ladie's night" for shooting which my wife is really liking the idea of. good for finding support and advice from a similar group. anything to get us all out there is a positive in my book.

Awesome!

It's crazy that a 120 year old design can still be totally relevant today.

Anyone interested in taking either the 1 day or 2 day class with me? Seems like a pretty good value vs. other long range shooting schools, and it's pretty close. Wytheville is where 81 meets 77. For either class whoever is game is welcome to stay at my house (50 minutes from that range) or I'd split a hotel room. I'm looking to do it in either early/mid October or early November. Takers?

I'd love to, but I'd have to wait until next year at the earliest. I don't have a long range stick. Probably will fix that as a winter project, but right now, not in the cards for yours truly. (Unless "long range" == "under 500m")
