Some are reported to be selling the right to buy the car to an intermediary who will then post that right on ebay for the highest bidder. This allows the dealer to sell the car for MSRP or $1 below in some cases while still taking advantage of the demand for the car and getting their mark up. Chrysler Fiat is powerless to do anything about it. Re: Automotive News Discussion - ScottyB - 08-01-2017 JPolen01 Wrote:Chrysler Fiat is powerless to do anything about it. they're not, they could easily penalize a bad dealer's pickup or SUV orders in the following months as punishment (those are the high-margin vehicles). some manufacturers will straight up cancel orders on dealers that try to break rules, because they call the shots, not some salespeople. but Chrysler won't, because that would mean they'd sell less cars, and they need every buck they can get. right now its worth more to them to keep moving cars than the lost marketing potential of not having a Demon at the front door when you walk in the showroom. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Jake - 08-02-2017 Not sure where else to put this but... yeah.
Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 08-02-2017 God I hate BMW for making so few of the 1M's. I'd be driving one of those for sure if they were a regular production M car. Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 08-02-2017 RawrImAMonster Wrote:God I hate BMW Fixed that for you.
Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 08-02-2017 SlimKlim Wrote:RawrImAMonster Wrote:God I hate BMW None of mine have caused me any significant amount of pain yet, so... we'll see if that changes. Unless something better comes along, I'll probably get an M2 here in a couple years once they've come down in price some. After owning my 135 I can only imagine that hooning perfection that exists wrapped in that 1M chassis. Want so much. And that orange.... Re: Automotive News Discussion - Senor_Taylor - 08-02-2017 I've said it before, and I'll say it again; BMW would be the perfect car manufacturer if it wasn't BMW. Re: Automotive News Discussion - .RJ - 08-02-2017 Gotta pay to play Re: Automotive News Discussion - Senor_Taylor - 08-02-2017 .RJ Wrote:Gotta pay to play Uh, no? Car manufacturers need to make enough of every car for everyone and sell them for $5. Re: Automotive News Discussion - BLINGMW - 08-31-2017 I didn't see F&F 8 so apparently I missed out on this thing I'm not exactly sure what makes it a "luxury" vehicle, maybe you get cupholders too for your $300K? RE: Automotive News Discussion - Goodspeed - 09-20-2017 This is the most excited I've been for a new car in ages: http://jalopnik.com/this-planned-electric-three-wheeler-looks-fantastic-and-1818561069 ![]() ![]()
RE: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 11-03-2017 BMW to recall 1 million vehicles including: 670,000 2006-2011 U.S. 3-Series vehicles to address a wiring issue for heating and air conditioning systems that may overheat and could increase the risk of a fire. The second recall covers 740,000 U.S. 2007-2011 vehicles with a valve heater that could rust and lead to a fire in rare cases. The recall includes some 128i vehicles, 3-Series, 5-Series and X3, X5 and Z4 vehicles. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-bmw-recall/bmw-recalling-1-million-vehicles-in-north-america-idUSKBN1D31MM RE: Automotive News Discussion - Tyler.M - 11-03-2017 Damn. Between this, the VW thing and the weird German Automaker pricing scheme popping up, dem Germans aren't doing too hot. RE: Automotive News Discussion - Jake - 11-05-2017 I watched all of this because I'm slightly hungover and nursing a pot of coffee, but if you only watch a few minutes, start at 8:35. 1980 GMC "light trucks" ... sales pitch? dramatization? dealer films? Not sure what this was made for but it's amusing.
