This is bullshit. If you're on patrol, you are subject to law. If you're going to a call, fine. Turn on your lights, You get a free pass. (Although you still shouldn't be reckless) But this guy was just cruisin and playin the radio, with no particular place to go. Therefore, he doesn't have a free pass to drive 90mph, blow stop signs, and MOST importantly in my book, ignore a citizen in distress! I tried to evade the citizen, when it is his DUTY to stop and investigate. He KNEW he'd been "busted" and he tried to speed off to avoid it. That's why I don't have a problem with what the Citizen did, because while they both broke the law, only one of them took (and subsequently broke) an Oath to uphold it...

And furthermore, as far as a "Reprimand" goes, well that's all fine and good, and I'm sure it's "worse" for a police officer than a ticket, but the public doesn't know what that means. "Remprimand" sounds too much for "Slapped on the wrist in the locker room" even if it actually means "strung up by his nutsack."

remember "traffic laws are for yours and others saftey" that got crammed down our throats in drivers ed? Police officers are subject to those too so they dont go around killing themselves and others while on the road.
When they need to get somewhere fast, thats why they have loud sirens and bright flashing lights, to let people know to GTFO of the way cuz they be breakin the law.

of course, then you have the cops who turn their lights on to run a red light when they dont feel like waiting then turn them right off after going through the intersection. that is equally abusive and should be punished as well.
