Jag isn't playing these new models too smartly, imo. Too many trims to choose from. Should be one turbo 4(290hp), one v6 (380hp), one v8(460-500hp), and one balls to the walls trim(560-600hp) :dunno:

Plus that MSRP is laughable. You can pick up a Alfa Giulia for $38k MSRP and be just as cool... But I guess you are paying the stroke my ego tax with the F-Type anyways

Re: Automotive News Discussion - ScottyB - 04-12-2017

a 4 cyl in that car is just so wrong.

i get it, we couldn't have the mustang GT and camaro SS and M3 if the turbo 4 and/or V6 versions didn't exist. but those are special models based on mostly average coupes. the FType is a sports car, or you could argue a grand tourer and fairly special in its own right, it doesn't require a pedestrian version. i don't understand the financial advantage of whatever market they're trying to touch with this, unless they have far more "i just want to look cool and then trade it in 2 years" customers than i ever thought.

Is anyone else slightly, uncomfortably H&B'd by the new Navigator?

I came here to say this. I really don't get who the market for this car is.

Looking forward to the next installment of McConaughey commercials...

That exterior is so gaudy but that interior is straight ballerness.

A 3360lb Jaguar with 300hp? 10 years ago we would have loved that.

Too bad the V6 is only a couple grand more and comes in a manual..

I also just came in here to laugh at Jake being such a Ford Fanboi nowadays  Fucking hideous.

And is it just me?

The Navigator is so ugly

Idk about ugly, but certainly nowhere in the vicinity of H&B. WTH Jake.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 04-12-2017

Is it too late to pile on?

Jake your opinions are bad and you should feel bad.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Jake - 04-12-2017

I'm sorry that you all lack the creativity to imagine that Navigator in a dark navy blue with oxblood red interior and perhaps a different set of wheels. Either way, definitely a polarizing design but IMO ahead of what they were selling before and far differentiated from the new Expedition that it shares a platform with.

I've long thought Ford was doing a lot of "right" although I'll happily admit where they've gone wrong, so... a fan but not a fanboi? :dunno: There must be something in the air or water at DJ's house though... living there exposed me to enough of it that I bought two shitty GMs in the same year! Wink Watch your savings accounts if you go over there, just for a few hours. You could find yourself behind the wheel of a 2008 Malibu or something.

don't forget that even in neutral, the planetary transmission preload will mean it'll still try to creep over you if you're standing in front of it

this also reminded me of another really fun and insane aspect of owning old automotive tech - twin-stick or triple-stick manuals. can you imagine driving this insane circus act with a loaded trailer behind you, in rain or snow or traffic?

anyway, just amazing to see where we've come from with how we get around.
The best part is those twin sticks were usually in TWO stroke diesels.

You bought two shitty GM's and let that experience spite you into hating on GM products

Have you test drove a new GM diesel? It's worth a second look. Interior is much better with the bucket seats.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Goodspeed - 04-12-2017

Back to the F Type for a sec, am I taking crazy pills, or did they not offer a V8/RWD/manual trans combo at one point?

Also, lol at pricing - 2018 4 cyl. will start "at $59,900 plus a $995 destination charge", when the current base model 2017 (sc'ed V6 340hp trim) starts at $61k. Though, given that they require you to spend 20 thousand more dollars to go from 340 to 380hp in the V6 cars, I guess you couldn't expect them to actually give you some monies back for the shame of having a 4 cylinder.

Nope, everything was automatic until last (this?) year with the V6 S being offered in manual.

Jake's just being a fan boy. If any bimmer had the issues his Denali had, it'd just be "BMW ownership"

What was the second shitty GM? All I can recall is the blue/teal Yukon.

He had a mid to late 90s muscle car at one point. Forgot which one
