Well, to be fair, Subaru said "under 300hp", I've not read anywhere that said "a little less". Technically 220hp is "under 300hp" and "higher performance" than the FT-86.

how many times has the crash test added weight? one car (and they are talking about going to 2200lbs for a 2012 MX5) makes weight and it means this one will? we have missed the low end of the weight too many times to be locked in to such a weight.

The range of weights from the test/prototype cars has been 2400-2700 lbs depending on who you believe, so its not out of the question. Or you could just keep making noise :lol:

with the ease at which people get numbers out of a K series... honda can easily up the power in the Si. rumor is they will. but thats always the rumor.

Anything more than 200hp in a FWD street car with struts is going to start getting into other compromises pretty quickly.

Not to say it's impossible, but chances are the Civic Si is not going to get any better in this generation. Even if it does, it'll probably still be heavier than the FT86/BRZ and it's still FWD.

nope... not any more. the mini odessy Si had intake side only like the base RSX, the RSX-S had the intake and exhaust vtec... i think the Z1 Si's got the double vtec for a couple of years before they got handcuffed again.
that being said... you can always get more power with a came profile. thats why they varry the timing and profile right? to say it cant be done is a little extreme
