- Dave - 02-19-2007 Maengelito Wrote:the integra had cracked trailing arm bushings. that happens to all hondas i believe. i say go out on track. its not like the control arm is gonna snap in half. there's still rubber in there. do it when you get home from the trackthat's what I would have done too. God knows how many bushings in the 240 need to be replaced, and I'm just now starting; its not gonna cause a catastrophic failure unless you continue to neglect it for years, IMO. - Mike - 02-19-2007 no worries, boys. the parts (and tool that takes 20 minutes per side) will be here wednesday. i'll get em done that night and then maybe even schedule an appointment at curry's for that alignment on my way down to the track ![]() got the thermostat done tonight (amazingly got the s2k out of the garage/driveway). held temp perfectly ![]() no fear, i'm 100% pumped up again! i almost want to pack the car now ![]() items i'm neglecting: bleeding brakes (they feel fine, not like they're suddenly gonna get nasty), and changing oil (has maybe 1000 miles on it, but has been sitting in there for a year. if the motor lets go, it was its time )packing list: -helmet -collar -gloves -camera -camera batteries -camera charger -minidv tapes -sleeping bag -pillow -clothes -toiletries -spare coolant -spare oil -spare filter -spare brake fluid -spare pads (front and rear) -spare rotors (front and rear) -anti seize -caliper grease -tools -wheels/tires -jack -jackstands -magazines/books -fold-out chair -air pump -winter cap -jacket -winter gloves -laptop -laptop charger -notebook -pen -credit book -check book -watch -wallet -lugnut tool -buddy club adjuster -funnels -ipod -ipod charger -headphones -sunglasses -glasses -contacts -contact solution -spare contacts -chapstick what am i forgetting? - ScottyB - 02-20-2007 Mike Wrote:what am i forgetting? sunglasses dawg. ain't much shade out there. and don't forget your girly shizzle like chapstick and possibly sunscreen. last time i was flagging at VIR i got wind burnt really really bad. do you have a power inverter for any AC appliances? they can be mighty handy (chargers, air pumps, hair dryers, etc  ) glad to hear its all fallin in place for you...that's a nice feeling  - Mike - 02-20-2007 my power inverter crapped out the first time i ever used it. i haven't trusted them enough to buy a new one ever since
- ScottyB - 02-20-2007 Mike Wrote:my power inverter crapped out the first time i ever used it. i haven't trusted them enough to buy a new one ever since what brand was it? i'm thinking of getting one for the X for outdoors stuff and i'd like to avoid throwing money away on it. - Mike - 02-20-2007 it was a coleman. - Kaan - 02-20-2007 you need to add "folding chair" to the list. - Mike - 02-20-2007 Kaan Wrote:you need to add "folding chair" to the list. already on there
- Feersty - 02-20-2007 -trucker hat - Mike - 02-20-2007 adjusted camera mount, reapplied shift knob sticker. a truly winner night... harness might not happen, but oh wells. pray to god (that i don't believe in) that i get those bushings and the tool tomorrow. - Mike - 02-21-2007 shit yeah! in even more coming together fashion... tool and bushings came today, rj found the hardware amidst his move, and curry's said they can do an alignment while i wait tomorrow. ammmerrrica! fuck yeah! - Mike - 02-21-2007 bushings in, alignment in the AM, back home, pack up car, hit the road. not getting to harness, but w/ a sparco evo and stock belt, i'll be better than before. - navin - 02-21-2007 congrats Mike, keep it on the pavement budday! - Mike - 02-22-2007 lagging a bit behind, but it looks like i'll be out of here by 1:30. Alignment... yeah, I needed it Camber (before/after) FL -2.1 / -2.1 FR -2.0 / -2.0 RL -1.0 / -1.2 RR -1.1 / -1.0 Caster FL .5 / .5 FR .6 / .6 Toe FL -.31 / -.05 FR -.52 / -.07 RL .4 / -.02 RR -.12 / 0 That's the result of taking every possible suspension component apart/off and putting it back together with no attention to anything
- Sijray21 - 02-22-2007 inspired me to get my alignment done and i'm happy i got mine done. My front toe needed it. I think i need camber kits....-2.8 and -3.1 for front camber and -1.8 and -1.6 for rear camber hock: I may need to do my tranny fluid at VIR when i get there. - Mike - 03-13-2007 explain me this... with the front wheels in the air, the car in neutral, and the clutch engaged, the wheels spin on their own. same scenario with the clutch disengaged and the wheels do not spin. am i moving fluid or something? - .RJ - 03-13-2007 Cold trans fluid is very viscous... it will turn the wheels because the cluch/input shaft is spinning. When the fluid warms up, the wheels stop spinning. - Mike - 03-13-2007 that's what we figured. the spinnage did slow after a while. - Mike - 05-07-2007 harness finally in, put seat belt back in passenger side. disconnected e-brake cables, but caliper is still rubbing so time for a new one i suppose. next event is in 2 weeks at shenandoah w/ r32 club. need to do for this event: replace sticky caliper, change oil, grease pedals, wash, vacuum, buy a chatterbox. want to do this year: front wheel bearings, balljoints, get a real exhaust, mount up passenger sparco and a harness, buy driving shoes. longer down the line: blox intake manifold, lightweight battery, cf hood, tach of some sort, oil pressure/water temp gauges, new motor or BOOST. some day this car will be "done," but i'm in no rush
