rob, did you fall asleep again?

Mike Wrote:rob, did you fall asleep again?

Nope, I had my head down for a little bit and took my eyes off the track, that guy with me(Robert) was anal as hell. I was one of three at my station at the time I hated him and beer cans fell out of his van when he opened the door. There were Natty Light empty cases in his van as well. He smoked cigarettes near me and I had to leave the tub to get fresh air. He littered too, cigarette boxes fell out of his truck and he just left them. He was dressed like a cowboy. He even had the audacity to tell Control about it(That I was "sleeping.") What a fuggin prick. I came back from lunch to the station after driving my truck through the woods and he said: "Uh control wants to talk to you." I was like "what about?" He was like "I don't know." The bastid told control I was sleeping when I wasn't. So I walked from 8 all the way to control and had to talk with J.J. about it. Then walk all the way back, take my chair and then go to 9 for the rest of the day. Then J.J. was bringing up the fact that I was late to the gate at VIR at a previous event and that I didn't act like I wanted to be there when I was on grid(irrelevant in my eyes, cause what's past is past.) I know I have mesed up in the past when it came to working, but I was ready this weekend to do better and I did. That bastid said I was sleeping. Just pissed me the hell off.

Jeff you didn't need to say that...without knowing the WHOLE story. My reputation for working was not good from pastevents, I wanted to quietly be very attentive about flagging this weekend, now I have to explain myself, because people here and NASA are already leary about my work ethic when it comes to track events, and from this (the last weekend of the season) I was striving to make it better. That dude Robert sucks, I hate him.

Oh yeah eff him if he thinks my truck sucks, He lived in his fuggin van down by the RIVER.

Do not take this random ass dude's word that is shady at best over mine, thanks.

- damnit458 - 10-17-2005

No need for justification Rob, as you said, theres no point in reliving the past. The people they have flagging with us usually are a bit strange, but ive found them to be fairly personable, and pretty decent flaggers. Looks like you just got unlucky and came up with an asshole.

Anyway, I wish I would have gone. Im amazed at how much representation MM has there, both on track and at all of the worker positions. Its great to see everybody out there.

Like I said in a previous post, its especially amazing to see our first MMer race. Im curious as to how you did (seems like something you would want to remember for down the road, atleast to measure how far you've come). Look forward to next season and seeing all of you guys back out on track.

Oh, and get those videos up there!

- Jeff - 10-17-2005

What he said was funny, I didn't know if it was true or not. I thought he was talking about a VT guy until he said "with that ugly truck." I didn't take his word did I? Lol feersty, no hate man. The guy was a flake, no doubt. I wouldn't wanna sit next to him on a subway. He was an SCCA guy and didn't really want to be there anyway it seemed. "This is what we do when there is no SCCA stuff going on, this flaging is all wrong." He was set up to hate...I just thought it was funny because that was like the first thing he said when he got in the tub. Just bitchin about the day before. I told RJ this would happen when he IMed me about it. I told him thats all the guy said and that was all there was to it. You explained it well and I believe you...so...whatever.

It was excellent. I had a blast. I ran on all seasons and stock brakes. They held up okay until the last session on Sunday. The tires/brakes were done once I began picking up more speed/heat. The best/most important thing I learned was to keep my head out of my ass. I really didn't appreciate what that meant until I started picking up more speed. I'll see everyone next season at VIR!

GREAT WEEKEND!

It felt amazing to get back on track again after several months. I really felt much more relaxed this time and was able to focus on the areas I needed improvement on from the past. Something felt strange with my brakes... but I worked with it over the weekend. I think the pads are worn down, and I'm about to go take a look now. I had 2 solo sessions on Sunday, which allowed me to feel the car with less weight and to focus more on communicating with other drivers. I used hand signals a lot when a fast car approached, letting them know I would allow a pass when able.

The good news is I was passed to group 2, which I'm really looking forward to- mainly for the classroom sessions. This weekend's group 1 was extremely annoying in the classroom- asking unrelative questions and not allowing Dan to instruct.

Congrats Evan on your 1st race weekend, looked great out there. Thanks workers for the long hours... its really nice knowing almost every corner is covered by someone in MM (or VT in this case).

oh yeah, Vixens was fun as usual. +1 vote for #1 blonde on technique! hahaha

.RJ Wrote:Had a good time as always, despite the dismal lack of track time for the instructor groups. I got the car down to a 1:29.3 this morning, so I met my goal for the weekend and I'm pretty happy with it. Throw on some good tires and a little more speed in T3 and T10 and I'm in the low 28's and in the mix for H4.
Aw come on....instructors Farked up their own sessions both days.
