Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Sully - 07-25-2016 Course sea salt or fine? (Did I miss that) Think this thing could take down a wasp? Or just severely piss it off? I imagine you could at least down one if a piece hit its wings. (Did I miss that from earlier? ) Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - SlimKlim - 07-25-2016 My sea salt wasn't specifically labeled either way but I'd say it is fairly coarse. If you want to get one of these things and start going after dangerous game that's on you, I think wasps are relatively armored because they sound crunchy when you squish them, so I don't know how much penetration you could get. That being said I don't know of anyone that has tried, so it's a brand new frontier! If you decided to put yourself on the line in the name of scientific research I would strongly recommend doing the thumb safety defeat mod because you're probably not going to finish it off on the first shot and fumbling with the safety while he prepares a counter attack is the last thing you'd want to be doing. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 08-13-2016 Thet won't stop thieves that are hell bent on getting them, but it'll stop a kid until they can be taught about what's behind them.
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - ScottyB - 08-14-2016 we have the same Schlage keypad door handle on our garage-to-interior door. its great. we leave the garage open but its really nice to have that door locked with easy keypad access Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 08-15-2016 ScottyB Wrote:we have the same Schlage keypad door handle on our garage-to-interior door. its great. we leave the garage open but its really nice to have that door locked with easy keypad access I've been thinking about the same. Also, good on you guys for having good storage practices. A good friend recently had a moment of panic (everything's fine) but needed somewhere to store his two long guns RFN. There was enough room in my safe to accommodate him, but it would have been easier for him to just, you know, have a safe. I know it's expensive, but it's worth it. If you're going to get into the hobby and you own your home, just buy a safe. Bigger than you think you "need". There's plenty of other uses, like securing documents and backups, hell my safe has Power, USB, and RJ45 built into the back, I could have a fireproof backup server in there if I wanted. It's worth it, so just do it. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 08-15-2016 CaptainHenreh Wrote:I've been thinking about the same.Agreed, some of the best peace of mind purchases I have ever made (along with a monitored security system). Now that we're moving I have to unbolt both of mine and figure out where they will go in the new place. I don't know that I would ever get trigger locks though Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 08-15-2016 I used one of those Schlage keypads on the storage room in our garage at our house in Ashburn because the security system brain was in there. It's nice to be able to get into a place quick, but not have to worry about people finding their way in without even really having to try. I'm pretty sure you could take a sledge hammer to the thing and bust it open, but it's as robust as any other door handle. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - ScottyB - 08-15-2016 Apoc Wrote:I'm pretty sure you could take a sledge hammer to the thing and bust it open, but it's as robust as any other door handle. right - its not going to prevent anything serious, but we've had people come up to the house (lawncare/security system installers/contractors) unannounced with the garage open and its nice to know that if they're tempted to peek into a seemingly empty house, its not going to be a simple turn of a knob. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 09-07-2016 Guess imma need to buy an "assault weapon" now, so I can be grandfathered in. http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-new ... apons-ban/ Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - SlimKlim - 09-07-2016 Oh, I got my first big-game with the Salt Gun last night. One of those nastyass silverfish things. Took 3-4 solid shots to kill him plus a follow-up mercy shot to help him get to the light a bit quicker. I really need to modify the stupid safety to stay off so I can get quicker follow up shots in. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 09-07-2016 Apoc Wrote:Guess imma need to buy an "assault weapon" now, so I can be grandfathered in. Wrong, you need to talk to your legislators and make sure that the bigwigs in Olympia smack Seattle's leadership in the peepee with some "Shall Not Be Infringed" conversation. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 09-07-2016 Well, yeah. Even if it does get introduced, there will be a vote. The good news about WA is petitions always send things to ballot, even when legislature pass something without a vote. I fully anticipate this to go to vote... eventually... but I'm not sure it won't be upheld. Damn weed loving, anti gun hippies. Even if it does pass you're probably still not in the clear...you could potentially keep your rifles but I don't see any mention of keeping the "high capacity" magazines Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 09-07-2016 I care less about magazines than I do about outlawing a gun with a particular shape. Changing mags in any situation where I'd need it sucks, but I'm willing to compromise. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 09-07-2016 Apoc Wrote:but I'm willing to compromise. Compromise? Compromise what? Motherfucking Miriam-Webster Wrote:a way of reaching agreement in which each person or group gives up something that was wanted in order to end an argument or dispute Tell me, what is the "other" giving you that you want in exchange for a right you enjoy? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 09-07-2016 Hint: Nothing. Not a goddam thing. It's not compromise when someone takes something from you. If I break into your house to rob you blind, it's not a "compromise" if I take your XBox but leave your TV. It's still fucking theft. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 09-07-2016 The compromise is that we both get to feel good. You know, like when I know I'm right but I acquiesce to my wife because I want to save enforcing my rightdom until there's something I really care about. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 09-08-2016 Apoc Wrote:The compromise is that we both get to feel good. Fuck that. I don't play games with my rights. It isn't about what feels good, that's the whole fucking problem. "Feels good" but "does nothing but give the state more power" isn't any kind of "compromise" I want to be a part of. The good feeling you're getting is loss of blood and oxygen to your brain from the State's boot on your neck. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - davej - 09-08-2016
