Jeep has teased a pickup (ie, reincarnation of the Comanche, but JK/Wrangler based) for years at various auto shows. They do, however, currently sell a conversion kit to make your own version of what AEV sells, but nothing new off the showroom floor.

local guy i mt bike with from time to time has a navy blue brute regular cab. in person, its hard to take your eyes off of it. it just looks amazing and purposeful like nothing else. the V8 under the hood doesn't hurt either.

It's awesome, but I dunno. Even I will admit that the V8 emits much better noises than Toyota's God-Hammer straight 6. I'd save a few grand and get a clean, stock example that is just as sexy. And then promptly spend those few grand on likely repairs.

It is a cool car, but to your point; the E46 and E39 generation of cars are currently in another stage of price plummet. The E46 325i I paid 14k for 3 years ago is now an $8-9k car. A 11k E36s now $7k, and a $4k E30 is now $7k. E39 M5s can be had in good, clean condition, garage kept and properly loved with less than 100k for well under 20k. Say you pick up a car for $16k, put $3k towards making it right as rain maintenance-wise, you'd have $10k left for a name brand supercharger and a bunch of Duetsh Domestic Market useless but satisfying bits n pieces for what'd be the ultimate pimpy scary-fast sedan.

I have a buddy that lives out in California that does occasional photoshoots for Roundel magazine. He shot a bright red Dinan E39 M5 back when it was still the newest model that was nicknamed the "Holy Roller," something like 700hp out of that delicious 5.0L, makes me all tingly inside.
