Besides 1.0 and 2.0, I'm pretty sure any digital cable doesn't matter. If it works, it works, it's not like analog where the signal can differ.

Uhh, yeah this. Obviously being on the current generation cable will perform better. Just buy Amazon's 2.0 cables and you'll be perfectly fine.

I've been rocking the Monoprice cables, work just fine.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 11-15-2016

I think it might start to matter with HDR content. Was reading that only one of the 5 ports on the Vizio is HDMI 2.0 while the rest are 1.4. So on most older TVs, wouldn't a 2.0 cable not really make a difference. For the price, I'm sure it doesn't really matter but just saying

Isn't that pretty much what I said, gentlemen?

No. It isn't. "Really good HDMI cable" does not equal, "latest generation cable."

I only buy gold-plated carbon-fiber insulated ultra-high-speed cables that are hand-assembled by Swedish virgins on an artisanal cable milling farm. Sure I had to max out my credit to afford them but that 0.000001s saved in latency makes me get so many more headshots in Battlefield 1.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 11-15-2016

i'd love to show some swedish virgins my monster cable.

It bothers you when people use correct grammar?

Well a 3 foot fall onto the pavement took out my iphone 6 over the weekend so I guess I'm going to be making the switch to android this Friday.

I stopped by the Verizon store to test out the Pixel yesterday and it seems pretty nice. Android is still not nearly as smooth as even my old iPhone 6. This is especially noticeable with something like zooming in on pictures. However, it's smooth enough now that it won't bother me. That was always my big hangup with Android in the past.

From what little I was playing with it, it seems to take great pictures. Honestly I felt like my iphone 6 camera was worse than my iphone 5 in most situations, so having a good phone camera again will be a welcome change.

Performance wise, I'm not too concerned. Benchmarks seem to show that the iPhone 7 is a good bit faster than anything else at the moment, but I think all of the top tier android phones are going to be more than fast enough for everything I'll be doing with a phone. Ultimately, I wish I could upgrade to the new iPhone, but the lack of a headphone jack just kills it for me. That and iOS 10 has been pissing me off on my old phone. I'm sure I'll get used to android in time.

Edit: Right now I'm using my brothers old Galaxy S3 until I can get a new phone. It is pretty terrible, so the jump to a newer phone and newer version of android should feel that much better on Friday.

Check out the S7, big fan of mine

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 11-22-2016

The Pixel is pretty cool. I was playing with it at the Verizon store when I was picking up my iPhone 7 the other day. I still prefer the ease of use and simplicity of iOS however.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - RawrImAMonster - 11-22-2016

I'll check it out, but if it's anything like the S3 I'm temporarily using now, I don't think I'll be a fan.
