Played the new AC for about an hour. Felt no different than the first couple, which I slogged through. I guess I just don't get it, but $1.50 (had a coupon) for an hour of entertainment cannot be argued with.

Have you gotten a ship yet? Can't remember when that happens. But the pirating part is the best part.

I piloted a ship away from an island. It was a horrible experience. I turned it off after that.

mmmhmmm! Held off on AC until I redbox it or something...preordered Titanfall and Destiny. Ready to game again!

I'm still undecided if I'm going to get either of the new generation consoles. I just built a computer that should run games quicker than either console so I may just stick to PC for now. Destiny does look pretty cool though and I don't think they're making that for PC.
Either way, I'm going to wait to see what most of my friends get to make a decision.

So far Ryse is awesome and Ghosts is awesome. Haven't played BF4 yet. One annoying thing is you have to load part of the game before you can play it. So many cool features when you integrate with Directv etc. I'll report back in the morning when I have a few more hours under my belt

Was able to get a healthy bit of sleep after a major xbox session yesterday. A couple of random thoughts about the One before I go back to playing it
- Overall it is an incredible machine. The level of intelligence and technology integration it is capable of is startling.
- Graphics are obviously a step above from the prior gen. And I am playing on a 6+ year old Mitsu DLP 1080p tv so once the new TV arrives it should only get better
- It looks like one of my Xbox panels got dropped or scratched or something at the factory which is more of an annoyance than anything
- The new headset is complete garbage
- Also annoying that the package only comes with one controller and no rechargeable batterry packs. The original Xbox may have been this way I can't remember, but that is another $85 you have to spend right out of the gate
- I didn't have Kinect before but I can say that it is pretty awesome if just for the voice activation alone. honestly the hand gestures seem more gimmicky than anything because it's finnicky and slower to use than just using voice commands or the controller. My wife is excited about being able to Skype our nephew on the big screen
- Being able to watch TV and do other stuff at the same time is cool, but the seamless and instant switch between TV and game is incredible when you connect your satellite box. I like that they integrated an NFL app and a fantasy football capability but sadly it is only run right now through the NFL Network league which we haven't used in like 4 years because it sucks so hard. I am still not so sure about having to have the Xbox on all the time when you are watching TV (based on past experience from dying Xboxes). Other than needing it to access DVR'd stuff, I really don't need any of our remotes anymore; every function for my Directv / TV / stereo receiver can be controlled by just saying what I want it to do
- Having to download a disc game before you play it is a massive annoyance but at least you only have to do it once. If you buy the disc you also have to put the disc in if you want to play the game even after the download. I guess I see what they did here; you can either download full games, fill up your hard drive, not have a disc collection but not be able to resell your games or you can buy a disc, not take up quite as much HD room, have to use the disc to play but be able to resell them to Gamestop
- I am "downloading" BF4 from the disc right now so I will report back on that but I can say that Ryse and Ghosts are both worth buying. I avoided AC Pirates and Forza...AC because of previous dialogue here and Forza because as much as I love cars I get super bored with racing games like that really quickly.

CoD multiplayer not so much. My internet connection isn't the best but it is fine for lag free multiplayer. I don't know if it is the servers or what but lag is really bad and latent bullet hits were maddeningly frustrating. I was three bullets deep on an opponent many many times and still ended up on the dying end of a lot of one on one battles. There is a super annoying attachment purchase system that slowly lets you add on attachments. Also you start out as a female character and you have to use the same points you use to unlock guns / attachments to not be a girl....lol okay. The guns you start with are pretty much garbage. I am glad I picked up BF4 because I would like to try that multiplayer as well. I'm going to give CoD a few more shots but what I am seeing right away didn't wow me. CoD multiplayer really hasn't been the same since BO1.
