Re: Automotive News Discussion - ViPER1313 - 01-09-2017 Am I the only one who thinks the new Suburban looks like a hearse? Re: Automotive News Discussion - Steve85 - 01-09-2017 Bigger and bigger...That traverse is the size of a Tahoe. And yeah, definitely better looking than that Terrain. I hope the turbo induced torqage gets that thing moving. Our CX-5 has something like 170-180hp and is probably 1000lbs lighter. I'd have a hard time picking those over an Explorer and it's beginning to age. If Andre the Giant were alive today I'd want 'GMC' printed on his forehead were he to be hit by this sonofabitch. See these blue lines? Those are Lexus's grilles as a percentage of frontal area across their entire range. MB is green. We're orange. We ain't got time to be fuckin' orange. NO ONE is leaving this room until I get a proof of concept on a grille that makes me erect in this very spot"

Re: Automotive News Discussion - HAULN-SS - 01-09-2017 that might be the ugliest SUV i've ever seen. I'd buy a juke over that. weak ass engine options too? I'm surprised it took this long for old GM to claw its way back. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Ken - 01-09-2017 Thoughts on the Kia stinger? Looks pretty good and twin turbo V6 doesn't sound too shabby either. Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 01-09-2017 Depends on price really. <$40k new w/Kia depreciation could put it on my roadmap in a few years for sure. Re: Automotive News Discussion - CaptainHenreh - 01-09-2017 SlimKlim Wrote:Depends on price really. <$40k new w/Kia depreciation could put it on my roadmap in a few years for sure. Indeed. Price and trans tuning, I could be talked into something like that. I don't mind smelling like kimchee. Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 01-09-2017 Also, for all the trash talk I see about them in /r/cars, "they only exist because you can't get 96-mo financing on a used car" and such, ours has been excellent to us. Nothing other than basic maintenance in the first 60k. If this thing is cheaper AND more reliable than something like a 340i, I'm pretty much sold. Now if only I could convince my better half that she doesn't need a V8 powered SUV because we have one dog. It's the chrome trim that makes it look that way. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Goodspeed - 01-09-2017 I had no idea what this Kia Stinger was until this thread, but holly hell that's a sharp looking car. Love the rear and interior especially, those triple A/C vents look very 'rarri-ish. ![]() SlimKlim Wrote:Also, for all the trash talk I see about them in /r/cars, "they only exist because you can't get 96-mo financing on a used car" and such, ours has been excellent to us. The comments section on the Jalopnik article for this car made it sound like Kia dealerships are the worst places on earth. I can't imagine they'd be that bad - maybe if you wore a t-shirt saying "I have my own financing" :dunno: Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 01-09-2017 Goodspeed Wrote:The comments section on the Jalopnik article for this car made it sound like Kia dealerships are the worst places on earth. I can't imagine they'd be that bad - maybe if you wore a t-shirt saying "I have my own financing" :dunno: For what it's worth, Ourisman Kia in Chantilly is a very normal dealership. We went and test drove some new models there and the salesman was super chill and helpful, we told him we weren't looking to buy new but wanted to test drive stuff and he accommodated without trying to push a sale, no one came at us with a hard-close routine to put us into a Sorento for $299/mo @12% for 186 mo or whatever. Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 01-09-2017 How about the Alfa Romeo Stelvio? Kind of reminds me of an X5, Macan, CX5 mashup. 280hp 2L turbo 4 505hp 433ft/lbs torque 2.9L TTV6 hock: Doesn't look like pricing is on their site yet. ![]() ![]() Re: Automotive News Discussion - Jake - 01-09-2017 JPolen01 Wrote:How about the Alfa Romeo Stelvio? Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 01-09-2017 Yeah I agree. Not sure if it's the way the photo was taken or the lense used but that side profile shot makes me all kinds of excited. Front end not so much. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Jake - 01-09-2017 Sounds like the Stinger could be the real deal, some automotive journalist wrote a review of a pre-production model on Forbes. Any chance an actual 3 pedal version would be available? Re: Automotive News Discussion - *insertusernamehere* - 01-10-2017 I don't like the name stinger but the rest of it works very well for me. If it came manual I'd be sold on the spot. Then again I was sold on the gen coupe 3.6 on the spot and drove a 2.0T didn't like it and hear that they all still felt cheapy and blah. So who knows? I definitely wanna drive one in the future though. Re: Automotive News Discussion - CaptainHenreh - 01-10-2017 Steve85 Wrote:Agree on all points. If it did, it'd probably be the same unit from the genesis coupe, but considering they're offering both rear and all wheel drive versions I'm guessing this guy will be the 8 speed auto only, just like in the big Genesis and most of the Genesis coupes. I also dont' think anyone will buy one but a guy can hope. |
