+1, If your serious, maybe look into it next year for us??? Itll be expensive, ill tell you that, but at least I already have a prepped car.

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - ScottyB - 09-16-2011

oh i'm serious, but not next year serious. i barely have enough play money to autocross

i'd absolutely love to join as a navigator/crew member for a team though, for the first year out to see what its like and prep. i've always wanted to do tarmac rally/hillclimbs but it seems this combines alot of the best of each in an accessible format.

Yeah it aint cheap. Entry fee is $5,685. Towing my car up there and back probably $7-800 in gas. Then gas there, tires, brakes, shti that breaks. I wouldnt be surprised if it turned out to be an $8,000 excursion. Thats why I would need a well-funded partner hhahah.

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Goodspeed - 09-16-2011

The coolest thing about the FM effort is that part of it was funded by Miata enthusiasts around the globe. Details in this video (and yes, Keith Tanner chokes up at the end - he's already been ribbed for it on a few forums but he's a good (and knowledgeable) guy)

And though the Enzo dipped into the water only yesterday, theres already a pretty good video and interview of the drivers

What's even dirtier is the sound of that Boss '9 engine that's been punched out to 500+ c.i.

damn...really wanted to hear it open up.

pro-touring is a build style that i think goes overboard sometimes, but every once in a while you see some stuff that is just extremely cool regardless of how much of that hardware is actually used.
