I will still say roads in PA are probably the worst I've ever driven on (with the exception of the soon-to-be I-99 on the way to Watkins Glen, NY)...

Oklahoma seems as if they have no road funds since they blow all their money on interstate signs like "Checotah - Home of Carry Underwood - American Idol Winner 2005"...

so true. when i lived in lancaster PA it was even worse from all the horse/buggies tearing up the roads. i recall we'd have to get our cars re-aligned constantly because the pot holes would beat the hell out of them.

del brink Wrote:Dear Mr. Collins:

Thank you for sharing your views on the "abuser fee" provisions which were included as a revenue component of the recently enacted omnibus transportation bill (HB 3202). These fees were developed by the majority members of the House of Delegates primarily as a means of raising funds for transportation while avoiding consideration of a broad-based, dedicated revenue source - the approach that I would have favored. Although I have misgivings about "abuser fees," and voted against them on several occasions in the past, I voted for HB 3202 as amended (and improved) by Governor Kaine. In my opinion, a number of features of the bill - including its funding for Metro and other mass transit operations, as well as its Northern Virginia regional package - outweighed the bill's deficiencies, notably the "abuser fee" provisions.

Sincerely,

Delegate Robert H. Brink

oh well, he lost my vote.

Democracy in action? Unpossible

No wai!

They should at least grant a temporary injunction against the fees until the legislature revises the bill... it's not right to leave something unjust in that manner in place for scheduling convenience. Ask the guys that already got tickets if you disagree...

"I think clearly the overwhelming majority of delegates and senators never meant or expected it would apply to these lesser charges,"

Oh, the old "we didn't actually read the bill" excuse? Hey, that's fine as long as the "I'm sorry officer, I didn't know I couldn't do that" excuse still works for us!

Good job there "Clay".

God, bill riders piss me off. That's why I can't buy enough sudafed during allergy season, because the fucking Patriot act put limits on it.

What the fuck is a terrorist going to do with sudafed? Clear my goddamn sinuses?

Glad to know that other countries have to deal with this bullshit, but they at least have creative approaches to it.

I take drugs for all sorts of reasons. Smile And I think the reason they can't sell you multiple packs of sudafed is because it can be used to make meth.

Right exactly, but why was that a rider on the Patriot act. How does making meth connect to terrorism? It doesn't. It was just another stupid rider to bill.

- HAULN-SS - 07-13-2007

man mike, it took your guy forever to respond. Did you write ~ the same time I did?

I know it's all the moron rednecks making meth, but that's the actual reason they can't sell you lots of it, why it's in the Patriot Act I have no idear. And I agree, ANYONE who does meth is a moron.
