Oh man... a sub 140hp car v. sho battle stage...

- WRXtranceformed - 03-26-2008

I love where this thread is going!!!

- Dave - 03-26-2008

So when is the SHOdown?

- Evan - 03-26-2008

oh, i forgot to mention.

My truck beat the SHO in a streetrace battle.
With a passenger.
and all my tools.
and 2 sets of wheels in the bed.

Wink

It's all a moot point - the SHO isn't going to be my track car anyways. Talon + boost FTMFW.

I would be interested to see it against Evan's Miata w/ the same driver - on Summit I think it would gain a lot of ground between 8 & 1 but the Miata could probably gain most of it back / pass it in between.

- Mike - 03-26-2008

no, really, it wouldn't even be close. your exit speed would be 15-20mph slower. you don't have the power to make that up... meaning he would likely have a higher top speed.

- Ginger - 03-26-2008

I'm late to the party - but why the hell do people always counter a reliability claim with an "indestructible" argument? The motor in the Rabbit didn't blow up - but it wasn't reliable, now was it? My Dad's '96 Imapala SS runs a legendary motor... but that didn't stop it from needing $10,000 in repairs since '02. That's *hardly* reliable.

And it was towed there on occasion.

Now, my Accord, which I've run into all manner of SUV, curb, and off road condition I could think of - all beating the snot out of the car - has never missed a beat. Ever. I think I've spent less than $1,500 on it since '04. Before that the car belonged to my mom... and it didn't cost her much either. And I was the fourth owner. And it has never, ever, needed a tow truck. At the same mileage as the SS. THAT'S reliable.

We're in an era where a car must start every time, every single day, and go. And that's the bare minimum. When it's got a problem, it needs to be a non-crippling problem. A car is unsatisfactory when it needs to be driven to the mechanic regularly. A car is reliable when it just doesn't give you problems. A car that won't start when _______________ (insert your car's favorite picky conditions here), needs to be towed anywhere, leaves you by the side of the road, stuck without a way to get to work, whatever, is just pathetic.

So really, lets stop using the "can't blow it up" argument already.

When's the Battle Royale? I wanna come.

both on equal tires might be interesting. if im on my race tires its probably no contest.
do you have falkens for that thing?

Evan Wrote:both on equal tires might be interesting

If by interesting you mean the SHO will roast its front tires and understeer into a wall by Turn 6, yes. No way that thing is going to be faster than a miata at any point around summit point.

Physics, the silent killer

shhhh........the battlestage won't happen if he thinks the sho has no chance Wink

although come to think of it, if its setup well, it could certainly be faster than your integra. adam how much does it weigh?
edit: looks like 3000lb. little more than i though. 220hp could still move it around nice if you can get it to turn

Rubbish. That thing aint going to turn 27's unless you strap a JATO on the roof

- Evan - 03-26-2008

well, in similar trim I bet it would. If it had the work your integra did or your integra was still a street car. of course we are into hypotheticals at this point.

I bet the sho would make a damn fast ITS car

FWIW, our guys runnin' .27s are 140rwhp at 2800lb.

With the proper handling and a driver that doesn't weigh 300lb, it could probably be proper quick.

For 3 laps

nobody is arguing that. adam is saying in current trim, his car will beat your miata.

- Ginger - 03-27-2008

Yeah, but this makes the bench racing easier:

ViPER1313 Wrote:It's all a moot point - the SHO isn't going to be my track car anyways. Talon + boost FTMFW.

It almost makes you think that it's about time for the "SHO is faster than your literbike!" stuff to stop...

My initial argument was that in it's current trim it would be faster around track than Andy's MR2. You were the one who blew the shit out of proportion swinging your hatch's dick around.

Lets do it. I'll be "the stig"

miata, mr2, civic... they're all pretty similar.
