FYI WD40 washes away and is not a true lubricant. White Lithium or Dry Graphite is a better solution. Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 02-10-2015 Never heard of Dry Graphite DJ.. Thanks for the input. Colton, you going full on hyrdo? Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - ibjeepin95 - 02-10-2015 V1GiLaNtE Wrote:Never heard of Dry Graphite DJ.. Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 03-16-2015 So over the past two weekend I've been wrenching on the XJ. Last weekend I got the front buttoned up with new 4" coils, bumstops drilled and tapped in the coil buckets and track bar adjustment. This weekend we installed my HD Offroad shackle relocation brackets, JKS shackles and new 4" Bilstein shocks. There were a few good struggles over the course of about 7 hours but eventually everything got installed, torqued to spec, and buttoned up. Overall I'm extremely please with my new shackle angle and the rear end now seems to glide over bumps as opposed to feeling like a dump truck being slammed up and down. A rough measurement puts me at 4" up front and about 4.5" in the rear. I have it loaded down with a bunch of crap to help it settle but I expect it should should settle to a full 4" F/R. I have some more pronounced vibes at 35mph but otherwise good. Still needed to order my LCA's and ultimately put a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit in it for the vibes. ![]() ![]()
Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - SlimKlim - 03-16-2015 Lookin good. Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 03-24-2015 Ordered up some new adjustable lower control arms. Still a few odds and ends to sort out before our Nova Jeepers Trip to Flagpole with Porsche Club of America in April. Can't wait to see some Cayenne's in SLOW action. To Do (Short list before 4/19): - Install new LCA's - Alignment + balance - Inspection - Add bumpstops to front - Add Bumpstops to rear - Sort out front brake lines (will probably go with GMC 1500 lines as they are super cheap and extended length) - Re-torque all newly installed items That's about it for now. This is a members only ride with some unique requirements so read carefully. As part of the ride, I will be offering a codrive seat for my XJ to a PCA club member for them to wheel the XJ and get that experience. 98' XJ Sport.. Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - Senor_Taylor - 04-03-2015 Silly solid axle people... Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 04-04-2015 You ifs boys could benefit from new UCAs. It might make you flex like a stock jeep. Too bad toyota lift parts are retarded expensive.

Jeep rides like a cloud of titties now on and offroad. New control arms pushed the axle forward allowing for a smoother ride and the relocation boxes allow the rear springs to just glide over everything. Feels super plush offroad. Great weekend of wheelin' and cleaning up local trails. Our Porsche Club of America Run was Sunday, but the better half of Saturday I spent with VA4WD Club cleaning up a disgusting trash dump site. We cleaned up about 39 tires, a camper topper, trash, bottles, old school supplies you name it. Probably the most 2 disgusting things we/I found all day was 1) gigantic used needle 2) a freshly decaying dog carcass. This kinda stuff really makes me mad when people abuse the privileges we have with our national forests and as a 4wd enthusiast it's the kinda shit that gets trails shut down and kills the sport. Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - Senor_Taylor - 04-23-2015 Where was this run? Also, wow, that Cayenne... Re: 98' XJ Sport.. Another XJ Thread - Jake - 04-23-2015 The shot of that Cayenne makes me giggle. Seems the early Touaregs/Cayennes are way more capable than most assume, with their trick air suspension, drive modes, and (I think?) center locker. Re: 98' XJ Sport..
