Autox a Rental Kart/or your Car, NASAX VMP! - D_Eclipse9916 - 03-12-2010
Registration is now open for both portions of the autocross at VMP on Sunday May 9 2010 with NASA Mid-Atlantic.

The day is now effectively considered a 4-heat autocross for a maximum of 20 entries per heat, starting one hour earlier than usual across the board (reg/tech at 9am not 10am, first kart off at 11am not noon.)
Heats 1 and 3 will be for karts, heats 2 and 4 will be for cars, with alternating work/run assignments accordingly.
Karts are being provided by <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.summitpointkart.com">http://www.summitpointkart.com</a><!-- m --> , they are 14hp Sodi RX7 units capable of 50-60mph and they are a blast to drive. The cost to rent a kart is $10 on top of the normal autocross entry fee (add another $10 either way for day-of signups, if there are any spots left.)
Participants are welcome to sign up for either portion or both portions. Yes indeed, you can run a rental kart in one heat and your car in one of the other heats, and appear on the results twice, and maybe win stuff too.
Any q's, please don't hesitate to ask. This event is the first of its kind, we are always looking to make NASA-MA autoX events more fun and this is something we have wanted to put together for several years now. Please join us for a day of fast fun with cones, cars, and now karts too!

Quick q....which class would I be in ('99 Miata, almost stock, non-novice). Couldn't find any info on which I should select (X-A, X-B, etc etc.)

Guys, this is the one of the best autox lots and best group to run with. Incredibly cheap for how many runs you get, and long autocross courses too. Sign up! At least 4 MM people will be there, and we want to see some stupid participation.

My house is also open to any stragglers worried about the drive, you can crash here Saturday night if you bring stuff to sleep on. I just need to know, and make sure it doesn't create a situation where I have to find a place to sleep by getting kicked out of my own bed for unexpected house guests. Welcome to come hang anytime Saturday just give me a call.

Just got an Email from Felton, If you are planning on AutoXing, SIGN UP!!!!! If there arent enough people by Wednesday morning this could get cancelled. You can crash here Saturday night if your worried about the drive! No excuses people, SIGN UP DAMNIT!!!!

But these things cost a significant amount of money to put on, and more importantly, we can't do 'em safely without a minimum of 14 drivers per heat to cover all the work assignments :evil:Huge thanks to all who are spreading the word, we really don't want to cancel!!!
