Dyno Session at E.T. Motorsports, Oct 1st **changed** - Dave - 09-06-2005

Hey Guys, E.T. Motorsports is hosting a dyno session on October 1st. The guys from Slowboy racing are coming down to do the actual dyno and tuning on a dynapack. The morning will have an AWD dyno costing $50 for 2 pulls with a wide band 02. Afternoon will have 2 2WD dynos going for $40 for 2 pulls with a wide band. They have offered to stay over until sunday if there is enough demand for them.
They have the ability to tune the following: AFC, AEM EMS, Haltech, Link, Motech, DSM Link, and I imagine some more.

If you have any questions you need to contact DJ at DJ@ETMotorsports.com or call the shop at 540-578-0665. My dyno lingo isn't very good so if this is incorrectly worded, then it is my fault for trying to write in shorthand as DJ was telling me the specs. I'll be there and I'd really like to see a strong showing from MM at this. Everybody is always talking about getting thier numbers, here is a good opportunity, close to home, and for a decent price.

CHANGE IN PLANS!!!
Slowboy screwed up and booked this weekend with us, but forgot a previous arrangement they had made back this spring! The dyno day will still happen, but there will be a couple changes. There will be a dynojet service who agreed to come last minute. It will be $55 for two pulls with the wide band. DJ will be doing tuning, but it will be 2wd only. Anybody who is signed up and needs to cancel or something, call or email DJ. Otherwise, everything will continue as planned. I believe they will still be doing the pulls in the morning, but I guess that depends on when you are signed up for. Contact DJ for more information. Sorry guys.

Grrr! The rush is on. Undecided

Man, this is super interesting. Do you know if they can do an A/F vs. RPM plot? I could care less about HP, but AF and a smooth curve are really interesting to me right now.

I'm up for going, anyone else?

I'm down, and I think John wants to dyno the M3. What kind of Dyno do they have? Mustang or Dynojet?

if they are using a wideband then they can plot A/F vs HP/TQ/RPM, if you bring a floppy I bet they can even give you the raw file and you can plot it on Dynojet's Desktop Dyno software on your laptop, assuming it is a dynojet. Might want to check w/ them ahead of time and find out if you can use your own wideband, that way you can have it read at the header rather than the tailpipe. Just ifnd out what kind of sensor they use, the VW sensor (what comes w/ the Innovative) may interface directly w/ their dyno. Which would be awesome!

I WILL BE THERE....hopefully gonna turn my boost up tommorrow as well

Who wants to chip in to see how miserable my fag car is?

- ViPER1313 - 09-07-2005

Im there - where is this place located?

- KPWSerpiente - 09-07-2005

DJ's shop is located in Weyers Cave.

As RJ already pointed out...Slowboy uses a dynopack dyno...and of course they are capable of plotting a/f against RPM. What good would it be without?

Mike, Cragger, Mark, ie, the guys from Slowboy are pretty chill. My FMIC kit is their design and I've bought a bunch of other things from them. I'll be there whether or not my car runs.

For those of you who are even remotely interested in having a horsepower number for your car....you probably won't see prices this rock bottom again.
I'd jump on it.

i'll probably bring the no torque wonder... the one that has some hp Tongue also curious to see what the hatch puts down... but driving 2 cars is kinda tough Tongue anybody wanna drive the hatch for the day?

- .RJ - 09-07-2005

If mike goes down with the rattletrap shitbox, i should go too and put down 20 more hp Wink

- Ryan T - 09-07-2005

Won't see prices that rock bottom again? I got 3 pulls for $30 the last time I dyno'd.

at least. i'd need someone to drive it, though, cause i really want to see how healthy the stook is.

- D_Eclipse9916 - 09-07-2005

If I get my clutch in by then id be willing, would love to get a baseline for my car..

- Jeff - 09-07-2005

Is this just a show up thing or is there some sort of sign up? Also, when they do the pull (for a base line, as I am on an OEM computer) do they have someone running it or do you run your own car on the thing?

- Ryan T - 09-07-2005

The dyno's that I have been to they have driven the car for you.

- PDenbigh - 09-07-2005

Hey Guys, I just signed up and I was #27, so if you want in on this I'd suggest giving them a call soon!

- Dave - 09-07-2005

You need to call them and sign up for this or somehow get in contact with DJ so that they can have an idea of how many people they are going to do. At the last dyno DJ hosted, you could "drive" your car, or he would. So, if you don't want to and don't mind giving up the keys, then you don't have to do it. I'm not sure how slowboy works this, but I imagine it will be a similar setup. I'm signing up later this week.

- Jeff - 09-07-2005

I'm just wondering if I will have a car to run by then. I should....but it could end up that I run into problems
