Family Hauler - davej - 09-28-2015 While we were not in the market for another car, a mutually beneficial business proposition was presented, so enter the 2015 Highlander ![]() ![]() This should hopefully never be a project thread because warranty, but even oil changes and such are included. Coming from a Odyssey, the Highlander is right about the same external size, but feels much smaller inside. (higher clearance is a big part of that I'm sure) It's the XLE trim, sort of mid-grade in their lineup, with the 3.5 V6 they use everywhere and AWD. I've put about 30 miles behind the wheel so far, so not much to report other than it drives really nice, mileage is going to be meh, and technology in cars has come a long way since 1976. I am on the look out for a hitch, so if you know of someone who has a compatible one laying around, let me know. Re: Family Hauler - rherold9 - 09-28-2015 Woah. It's not a BMW. When your version came out, it looked MUCH better and the reviews seemed to back it up. Nice buy, ya know for a family car and all that.

Although I will say I was expecting a V8 wagon of some kind when I read the title..... Re: Family Hauler - Jake - 09-29-2015 Dave ain't got no room for boring. Re: Family Hauler - davej - 10-02-2015  Terry cracks me up. Yeah, the redesign is nicer compared to previous gens, but it's still nothing to write home about. (interior is especially bland) It should serve the Mrs. well as a general transport for kids and a dog until the lease is up. Re: Family Hauler - Jake - 10-02-2015 Did you guys cross-shop other models in the segment (that may the the boringest and adultest sentence I've written in a long time) or was this deal so great that you knew what you'd be getting? Re: Family Hauler - davej - 10-03-2015 We didn't shop outside of the brand, opportunity was for a yota, and since this was my wife's deal, she grabbed at a chance to get out of the van. (despite my 'encouragement' for a Sienna.... or Tundra) To be honest, I'm not even sure what else would be in that segment. Pilot maybe? I don't think Subaru does anything that big. Do explorers have a 3rd row? All questions I don't really care to know the answers to.
